✨ Do you know what happens in the body when you touch and massage your head?
Head massage acts directly on very sensitive and richly vascularized anatomical structures:
🔹 The scalp – is full of nerve endings. When touched, these send signals to the brain that activate the parasympathetic nervous system, responsible for relaxation.
🔹 The muscles of the scalp, temples and neck – such as the temporalis, occipitalis and sternocleidomastoid muscles. When massaged, these muscles relax, reduce pressure and relieve discomfort.
🔹 Blood circulation – circular maneuvers stimulate the small blood vessels in the scalp, increasing tissue oxygenation and general relaxation.
🔹 Neurovascular points – especially in the temple area and at the base of the skull, where massage can relieve pain and reduce nervous tension.
🔹 Fascial – massage mobilizes the fascia, releasing the tension accumulated between the skin, muscles and bones.
🔹 Relaxation hormones – touch triggers the release of endorphins, serotonin and oxytocin, hormones that induce calm, well-being and emotional balance.
The result is a combination of muscle relaxation, mental calmness and nervous system reset.
