Avoiding injectables? Not a fan of fillers? Our upcoming workshop - FACE YOGA THERAPY: SOFTEN, STRENGTHEN & SHINE - is for you.

Face yoga is a holistic approach to face sculpting. Practitioners say that working our facial muscles, increasing the blood flow and reducing the tension we hold in this area, leads to real, visible results in the mirror.

But let’s be clear, this practice isn’t just about beauty. Face yoga is enormously energising, making you feel more expressive and at home in your own skin.

Lead by Yoga Therapist Julie Pons Woods, this enlightening two hour workshop will explore:

✨ Marma point massage
✨ Traditional face yoga
✨ Cranio-sacral touch
✨ Embodied voice work

Participants will receive a mini bottle of face oil to take home.

No experience necessary — just bring your breath, your presence, and your beautiful face.

🗓 9th May
⏰ 2.30 - 4.20pm

Don’t forget, our workshop Mindful Backbending: A heart opening practice with Raili Maripuu, is coming soon!

Backbending is about more than just suppleness. It requires a combination of strength, stamina and flexibility. Beyond the physicality, this practice can also be demanding emotionally - opening the chest often feels vulnerable - and that’s where we come in. This nurturing session will help you approach backbends with patience and self-compassion, allowing you to feel safe, confident and supported as you explore this powerful movement sequence.

This workshop will cover:
✨ Back bending using a combination of primary and intermediate series from the ✨ Ashtanga yoga sequence.
✨ How to strengthen the back muscles and abdominals.
✨ How to create space in the front body, through the ribcage.
✨ Techniques to help you stay in those ‘difficult’ places and work through them.

Unexpected perk of pregnancy? Being told to do yoga of course!

Let’s be honest, the unsolicited advice comes thick and fast when you announce you’re expecting. But there is one recommendation we can definitely all get behind, and that’s pregnancy yoga.

At Yoga Reading we know movement is powerful at every stage of life, including (and perhaps especially) during pregnancy. Our brilliant pregnancy yoga teacher and trained doula Jo, creates sessions that are accessible, nurturing and empowering. From those early days of your first trimester, right through to your due date, our classes offer you the chance to move, breathe, connect with your baby and meet other mums-to-be.

Never tried yoga before? It doesn’t matter!

Whether you’ve been practicing for years, or have never stepped foot on a mat, we’ll meet you exactly where you are, helping to prepare mind and body as it changes and grows through this season.

Our next Pregnancy Yoga course starts on 11th April, so we look forward to seeing you and your bump on the mat soon!

Our Story

We are Yoga Reading. We are Katia and Sophie and Yoga Reading has grown out of our friendship and our total belief in the fact that movement makes you feel better. Every. Single. Time.

As we’ve built Yoga Reading, this belief has been moulded and elevated through our understanding that movement needs to be tailored to your body and your needs – which, guess what, change over time. What we need now in our 40’s is different from what we needed in our 20’s and we know this will continue to change. The skills we have built over the last ten years or so have equipped us with the knowledge of how to support our body’s to be strong and, most importantly, to improve our level of comfort. And this is what we want to share with the Yoga Reading community.

We want to provide the BEST quality teaching and information so that everyone can find the tools and techniques they need to support their busy lives and feel comfortable and strong in their bodies.

We have built a team of teachers to work with us to make sure that there’s a practice on our schedule for everyone. Between us we are skilled in yoga, meditation, injury prevention and reduction, rehabilitation, strength training, anxiety management, standing on your head and being able to sit very still!
