The old tender point methodâpressing 18 spots on the body to check for painâhas been replaced. Since 2016, the American College of Rheumatology recommends a more accurate and evidence-based approach: the Widespread Pain Index and Symptom Severity Scale.
In this video, I explain why the tender point method is outdated and how our modern understanding of fibromyalgia as a neuroimmune condition has shifted the way we diagnose it.
