📍 Still using tender points to diagnose fibromyalgia? It’s time for an update.

The old tender point method—pressing 18 spots on the body to check for pain—has been replaced. Since 2016, the American College of Rheumatology recommends a more accurate and evidence-based approach: the Widespread Pain Index and Symptom Severity Scale.

In this video, I explain why the tender point method is outdated and how our modern understanding of fibromyalgia as a neuroimmune condition has shifted the way we diagnose it.
