As temperatures drop across the UK, joint expert Mr Nural Ahad is urging people with arthritis or joint pain to keep moving — even when it’s freezing outside!🥶
Cold weather can make synovial fluid thicker, joints stiffer, and pain worse. But staying active can really help!💪

Here’s what Mr Ahad recommends:
• Gentle daily movement
• Short walks with supportive footwear
• Indoor exercises like stretches, cycling or light resistance work
• Keeping bones strong and pressure off joints through regular activity

If joint pain is stopping you in your tracks, early assessment can make a big difference!

For nearly three decades, Paula battled persistent knee pain after a riding accident left her with a damaged anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Working long hours on her feet eventually wore away the cartilage in her knee completely.

Despite multiple operations, her mobility worsened until her GP referred her for a knee replacement through the NHS. Just three months later, Paula had her surgery and began physiotherapy.
