Unedited reel of me getting into bound monkey pose (Hanumanasana Uttanasana Baddha Hasta 🐵) for the first time.

Apart from my super sticky mat, it wasn’t too challenging. Difficulty, like 5.5/10 😌

Practicing bakasana (crow pose) with blocks 🧱

If you find crow pose intimidating, using blocks means your face is further from faceplanting the ground 🙃

And a bit of support can give that extra lift to get the hips higher & feet off the mat.

Then you fly ✨🪶🐦‍⬛

Add this short yoga flow to your practice to build hip strength & mobility 🔥

(Confession: I really struggle coming up from a pistol squat 🥲)

Save for later or share with someone who has tight hips 🙃💜

Añjaneyāsana: Hanumān’s Feminine Power

This yoga pose (crescent lunge) is named after Hanumān 🐵 Añjaneya means ‘son of Añjanā’, which was Hanumān’s fave epithet for himself.

Hanumān was celebrated for his strength and physical prowess - the warrior king energy 🔥 But mother, Añjanā, saw something else growing inside of him.

While the world admired his outer power, she was proud of his inner devotion.

Through her wisdom, Hanumān learned to wield both masculine and feminine energies in tandem — strength and surrender. Finding this balance is the work of yoga 🌀

Swipe to read a story of Anjana imparting her wisdom to Hanuman.

Another day, another jumpback 🙃

When I first started yoga, I was impatient to get into more advanced postures and would kick up into a headstand.

But now, I understand that the quality of movement and breath is much more important than using brute force or strength to enter into a pose.

In many ways, Tripod headstand is Chaturanga. And Chaturanga is Tadasana (mountain pose). The bandhas and body are engaged.

So if the bandhas and body in Tadasana and Chaturanga aren’t solid, entering and holding a headstand will feel challenging.

In my classes, we always start with the foundations and build from there.

Although my classes are dynamic vinyasa, it’s never about forcing your way into a pose. We move with intention, surrender into stillness, and let the practice meet us where we are.

In that stillness, the self grows stronger — and that’s the strength we cultivate on and off the mat.

I teach in this beautiful studio (CAMPUS) every Monday 12:30–13:15. If you work there, come flow with me 🌀✨
