Woke up to a lovely email… (see message in photos) 💕

So many of the mums who had a baby during Covid lockdowns are coming back with a second pregnancy now and realising how different it will be.

Not everything has gone back to normal though. Locally we lost the hospital breastfeeding clinic during the pandemic and it’s not been reinstated because they don’t have the resources 😔

Check out https://www.tessavenutisanderson.co.uk for my pregnancy classes - in person and online so you can join in from anywhere 🌍

Our infant feeding specialist Erin from Mummy Minder has a new blog which addresses the environmental impact of formula
feeding, and raises the question as to whether or not this is even a consideration when choosing how to feed our babies.

I once read an article about Alzheimer’s and how, when a person is starting to experience symptoms, many actions need to be taken to combat the disease, as if one were fixing a leaking roof that had dozens of holes. In the same sense, we can say the environmental crisis we face now might have hund...

A new blog about how low the breastfeeding stats are, and how a struggling mother might relate to them. There is always help available. Breastfeeding is that important. ♥️🤱🏽♥️

Entering my second decade as a breastfeeding counsellor, I’ve read perhaps tens of thousands of social media posts from struggling mothers with about every kind of issue under the sun. I’ve probably commented on thousands, and yet it was the one screen shot sent to me by a mother I was supportin...

Have you had trouble breastfeeding in the past, or know someone who has struggled with breastfeeding? Did you, or that someone, not know where to turn for support, or felt the support wasn’t enough? Our infant feeding specialist has September course dates to help prepare you fir this most amazing journey

https://www.mummyminder.com/book-online

Many women wish they had support to get them through the early days, or had know the basics of how breastfeeding works so that they wouldn’t constantly worry that their baby was getting enough.

Much conflicting advise leaves us feeling lost, worried and alone.

💜 This course is designed to support growing families on how breastfeeding works- most importantly, what good breastfeeding looks like and should feel like.

💜 Early days can be so very hard, but there is the education and support available to take the anxiety out of the early days with a newborn.

✔ This includes 4.5 hours of classes taught on your own comfortable sofa via zoom. How wonderfully relaxing

✔ Weekly e-mailed handouts with the most up to date relevant information which can be tailored based on individual needs and questions

✔ Printable Postnatal Planner. This helps expectant parents to organise and really consider how they want their time with their newborn to look like, especially preparing for the practical help needed

✔ Access to closed facebook support and sharing group plus arranged meet ups

✔ Access to WhatsApp group for that amazing parents peer support

✔ Ongoing text and phone support. This service will prove invaluable once babe is in arms and all the theory becomes reality! Reassurance of normal newborn behaviour helps parents to enjoy their babies more. No question is too small.

Course starts in September, link in the comments 😊

During the pandemic, people’s movement patterns have changed.

For pregnant women, this seems to have an effect on how they travel through pregnancy and birth, with pelvic pain and inductions being more prevalent through the lockdowns.

Tessa, our yoga teacher, has more pregnancy yoga clients who are doing longer hours at a desk at home, which is not set up for good posture because we’re all making doing with dining chairs and laptops at the wrong level!

See if there’s a way to introduce regular movement breaks in your day.

That might be walking up and down the stairs a couple of times, on the hour.

Swap your chair for a birth ball for 10 minutes so you sit in a different way.

Have a walk around the block at lunchtime.

Join a pregnancy yoga class (in person from next week as well as online).

Most of all reflect on how birth is a physical process and preparing physically is as important as preparing mentally.

She has a FREE talk about the Body in Birth that helps you see why you need to be physically ready for birth, whatever kind of birth you’re planning.

Our yoga teacher, Tessa, offers an online course as well as virtual classes via Zoom.

An online Mother & Baby Yoga course allows you to do the stretching and strengthening for yourself, and the mini moves and songs with a baby at a TIME that suits YOU!

Popular with parents to learn nursery rhymes and have fun ways of bonding with your baby.

The course was filmed with six mums and babies of different ages who attended my classes at the time.
