What a year! 2025 has been my biggest year of professional growth to date. I couldn’t have supported so many families without my mentors and colleagues. Huge shoutout to everyone at Serenity for being part of my story and allowing me to be part of theirs. It’s an absolute honor to support growing families as they navigate birth and beyond. To those that let me catch their babies this year, I am forever grateful to you. Because of you I will become a CPM in 2026 and I can’t thank you enough for letting me learn. Truly from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

We spent some time preparing and getting ready for round two of our UNLV Birth Doula Course. Regina and I are so excited to help grow our community of doulas one birth at a time. It’s World Breastfeeding week and National Breastfeeding Awareness Month! This lactation counselor wants you to know, you are magnificent! Breastfeeding or Chestfeeding, while natural, is not always easy. No matter your journey I’d like to hold space for you. I see you. All of you! You should be proud of the one drop fed or the 5 years spent feeding your child and everything else in between.

✨To the newbie uncomfortable and awkward, I see you.
✨To the seasoned one without issue, I see you.
✨To the pumping parent doing 3xs the work, I see you.
✨To the ones who want to lactate but can’t, I see you.
✨To the ones battling pain, bleeding, tongue ties, late night, tears, and stress, I see you.
✨To the partners wishing you could do more, I see you.
✨To the parent supplementing with formula, I see you.

❤️This family has my heart! ❤️

I stopped working as a doula a long while ago and that was super hard for me as I transition into becoming a midwife. When I was teaching our monthly class one night for this beautiful couple approached me and asked if I’d be their doula. I apologized and said no I’m not taking clients anymore. This mamma asked I just think about it because she knew I was meant to be at her birth. She also told me she’d have her baby the weekend of the 13th…. A little, ” yea ok” popped in my head with a giggle. Well here we are! Lol 😆

Well I thought about it and something in my heart helped me say yes. We joked that I’d come out of retirement for them lol. There was a sign 🦚 and a strong unspoken connection to them ! I adore this now family of three. They are amazing humans!

Total bonus, they hired my daughter to photograph which was a total plus and meant so much to work along side her again. What a magical day! Congratulations you guys. You are an amazing team! Also, Happy Father’s Day! Nothing with ever top this Father’s Day for you guys. Love you all!

Such an amazing day sharpening our skills and working together to understand neonatal resuscitation! Thank you Karen with for such in depth content and for the change you make in the birth world! We are also so thankful to have had such a wonderful space to train in!

On this day at 7pm, families all over the world light a candle together known as The Wave of Light to honor our babies gone too soon.
