We have been very quiet on here as we have been very busy over the summer making fantastic memories and learning lots of new things, wow what a summer we all had!

Today we welcome all the children back and lots of new children, who we are looking forward to making lots more memories with and settling them into our little family hive!

Have you seen Dennis Walton?

Dennis, aged 71 years is missing from Redcar and officers are appealing for information to help find him.

Dennis was last seen around 2000hrs on the 1st in Brecon Drive.

When Dennis was last seen, he was wearing the same clothing as the photo.

Anyone who thinks they might have seen Dennis, or anyone who has any information, is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number CVP25144716.

I can paint, feel and sing a rainbow 🌈🌈

Today we have continued to chat about colours and textures, the Honeybees were extremely excited to be able to explore 3 separate trays to entice them to discover more textures.

We used shaving foam and multi coloured paint to create our rainbow the honeybees then used multi coloured sticks to draw and make patterns in the foam.

By providing varying messy play we are increasing the depth of exploration and problem solving. The Honeybees loved using various grips and tools to get to their desired designs.

We set up free painting but using differing tools and also a tray with textured small parts to recreate a rainbow. All of these link together with the children interests and ideas. What a busy bee morning we have had.🐝🐝

A fantastic project helping families across the area during the summer holidays. It's completely free and it's available to everyone with children. There's no need to book as this year its a drop in. They'll be posting a detailed timetable of the activities shortly. So regardless of your situation everyone is welcome.

Starting on the 28th July for four weeks, running every Monday through to Thursday at various venues across Redcar and the surrounding areas.

All our sessions are drop in, no booking required this year

🌊 Messy Sea Foam Play 🌊

This morning, the babees enjoyed exploring bubbly sea foam and sea creatures! We added lemon-scented bubbles for extra sensory fun, allowing them to fish for sea animals while splashing in the bubbles and blowing bubbles with our hands!🫧🫧🫧

Welcome to our stick insects 🪳🪳

We have absolutely loved insect week, discovering, hunting and learning about lots of different insects that share our world. To finish the week, not only are we waiting for butterflies to emerge from their cocoons, but we have introduced stick insects to the room as well!! The children are fascinated already!

🦋Morpho peleides🦋
Whilst at butterfly world on Wednesday, the babies were particularly attracted to the giant blue butterflies, known as ‘Morpho peleides’. We observed them flying around, and discussed how they were big and blue.

Yesterday , we created a blue tuff tray filled with blue play dough and a variety of materials, including some pictures of the Morpho peleides. During this activity we practiced our fine motor skills through pinching and squashing the play dough. We rolled the dough into balls, we pressed it with our fingertips and we added glitter and sparkly blue paper to enable the babies to embrace their creativity and imagination.

FLUTTERING FUN AT BUTTERFLY WORLD! 🦋
Today we went on a very fun adventure to butterfly world. The children were so excited and enthusiastic to explore the butterfly habitat. The children pointed towards the butterfly’s and enjoyed watching them flutter around the trees.

After lots of fun at butterfly world we then had a scrumptious picnic on the grass area to end a wonderful morning. 🍓🥪🧁

What a lovely experience for the children to take part in. We are having such a fun bug week! 🐛🦋🐌

Embracing the children’s imagination 💭 🦋🚘

Our Honey bees often come into nursery with ideas of what they would like to do, and our practitioners always do their upmost to fulfill these.

We continued our bugs and butterflies with the children’s interest and made butterflies with various small parts and playdoh.

We then carried this on outside and made butterfly coloured tree decorations, whilst making these two of our Honey bees thought the tyres would make a great car, so with a little help from the practitioners they were on their way to the beach!!!

All you need is imagination ❤️
