The aim of Creative Thinking is to support adults who learn differently (learning disabilities, mental health, aspergers, autism). We provide a safe, relaxing supportive environment where our artists/service users, can socialise, make friends, gain communication skills and build confidence. They will be supported and supervised by qualified and experienced staff members and supportive volunteers.

We aim to provide a safe inclusive environment where our artists are able to express themselves and their ideas and know they will be heard and respected. Our artists are encouraged to use their imagination and we celebrate their talents and abilities. At Creative Thinking support services we take a person centered approach with our artists. Our Story

Creative Thinking Support Services aim is to provide people who have learning disabilities, mental health, aspergers or autism with a safe, relaxing environment to come and make friends and enjoy themselves without fear of discrimination. A place where they can get great support, information, advice and access the community and its services. The centre aims to maximise their potential and enhance the individual's quality of life through activity and learning. We aim to provide a warm, welcoming and relaxing atmosphere for the people who use the centre. The users of the centre will be able to: Access the centre five days a week throughout the year. Be involved in their own person centred care plan, identifying their own individual care and support needs. Have a choice of activities e.g. Arts and Crafts, Computers, Health and Beauty, Games, and much more, these services are specially catered for people with learning disabilities. Socialise with others at the centre through group and team events. Develop Co-operatives and Enterprises. Relax in a safe and friendly environment. Creative Thinking carefully blends arts and crafts, life skills, cooking, computer skills, health and beauty in a fun, entertaining and safe environment. The centre has been set up to give people with learning disabilities, mental health, aspergers and autism advice and information on anything they wish to discuss. Aims and Objectives The aims of Creative Thinking Support Services is to improve social inclusion and widening participation through developing real progression routes to developing skills, employment and achieving personal goals for adults with Learning Disabilities, this will be achieved through meaningful training, education and employment. The service will support those that encounter barriers to real employment or studying within mainstream education / training organisations. Our Aims are to use our service to break down many of the prejudices associated with people with learning disabilities and in doing so Promote Access and Participation within the local community. We Aim to provide a safe but challenging environment in which our members/service users are able to express themselves, their ideas and know they will be heard and respected. We Aim to respond to our members/service user's creative assets, drive and imagination and celebrate their talent and abilities through exhibitions and events. We Aim to use the model of Social enterprises and social Firms to offer new opportunities for individuals to become in-control of generating personal income should it be their wish to do so. We Aim to focus on Equality and quality in all aspects of our work, our artists will have a contributing factor in the shaping, and direction, vision and creative sculpting of the company so the business will not lose its long-term focus. Above all we Aim to raise awareness to encourage society to think differently about disability. Support will be given to individuals to bridge this gap themselves as society and employers may be restrained to support this meaningfully. We intent to develop an umbrella service that will act as a HUB for people to access via Individualised Budgets and so have control over their own futures. We expect to deliver a varied craft portfolio including; Arts and Crafts, Digital Photography, Arts, Animation, Sculpture, Needle craft, computer skills and digital arts, therapeutic arts, fashion and textiles, Health living, Physical fitness, and Hair and beauty. As Adult Service Day Services continues to dwindle as a direct result to the Economic reduction of funding from central government, the increases take up individualised and personal budget we are finding more people are accessing private services. This increase of choice for individuals has only been slowed in momentum due to the lack of meaningful support that is delivered within the local area as most private services reproduce the already lacking services delivered by the local authority. Where "Creative Thinking" will differ is that our main objective is to support people to develop opportunities to make a difference and gain a more rewarding service that can offer greater choice. It is our aim to free people from day service support entirely (giving them true independence and empowering people to control their own progression and development routes by offering an alternative stepping stone to an independent future. Creative Thinking Support Services is based in the centre of Redcar. We are experts in supporting adults with learning difficulties (adults who learn differently) to learn new skills, develop opportunities and shape futures through the medium of art and creative crafts. Here at Creative Thinking you will have the opportunity to participate in a huge variety of arts & crafts including-

· digital photography · Sculpture · drawing and painting · fashion & textiles · model making · mixed media · card making and much much more! All artists and crafty people will be able to display and sell work in our fantastic sales room! We are very proud of the fantastic facilities within the service and we hope that it will aid artists and craftspeople to gain a more enjoyable learning experience. Within the Centre we have art rooms and workstations that suit every learning style and support needs, whether you enjoy working in vibrant groups or you prefer a quieter, more relaxed environment. With the luxury of top of the range computer facilities throughout the centre artists can enjoy exploring digital arts, photography or uploading artwork on our Digital Gallery on- creativethinkingresourcecentre.co.uk The Centre also boasts a spacious accessible toilet and washroom on the ground floor, with additional toilet facilities throughout plus a shower room. Within the centre we have a small salon where in time people will be able to practice hair and beauty skills including massage and aroma therapy. Our Aim Is to help artists to develop skills and gain qualifications though meaningful support. Artists will also be supported to create crafts and artwork to sell, artists will be encouraged to work in partnership and work within a co-operative or develop micro enterprises All artists will be supported by fully qualified tutors and facilitators who's only objective is to help you achieve.
