Not all learning differences look the same.
Some affect reading. Some affect writing. Some affect numbers. Some affect movement.

What they all have in common is this:
these are brain differences — not effort problems, not motivation issues, and not a reflection of intelligence.

This visual gently compares dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and dyspraxia to help adults recognise what might be underneath a child’s struggles, and respond with understanding rather than pressure.

Our annual survey is still open. If families in Redcar and Cleveland can take a few minutes to complete our survey and provide feedback it would be greatly appreciated. The responses to this survey can help us ensure that we put on training that meets families needs and our coffee events and drop-ins are at days and times to suit everyone :)

Morning everybody!

We have had quite a few new followers over the last couple of days which is great to see. So we thought we would do a little introductory post.

SEND Family Voice is the recognised parent and carer forum for Redcar and Cleveland. This basically means we support parents and carers in Redcar and Cleveland who have children with SEND. Whether they are diagnosed, on the pathway for assessment with CAMHS or Right to Choose or you have concerns around their behaviour and development.

Our aim is to meet as many parents and carers across Redcar and Cleveland to work with you to help support your family, signpost you to any services you may need and provide a safe environment for you to meet other parents and carers going through similar journeys.

We host coffee mornings, events with professionals and training to upskill our parents and carers.
