The Met Office has issued a Yellow Alert for the current heat wave which has hit England including Bromsgrove & District Area, from now until Tuesday 14th July.
High temperatures, up to 34C, is expected throughout the week, which can pose serious health risks, especially for older adults, young children, and people with long-term conditions.
What You Can Do:
- Stay cool. Avoid the sun between 11am–3pm and keep your home as cool as possible.
- Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water and avoid caffeine or alcohol.
- Stay protected. Wear sunscreen, loose clothing, and a hat if you’re outside.
- Check in. Look out for vulnerable neighbours, friends or family members.
- Know the signs. If someone feels dizzy, tired, or unwell in the heat, move them to a cool place and give them fluids. Call 111 if concerned.
