Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Peter Martin who, through his self-defence classes, is spearheading the campaign in our town. aims to educate people, predominantly youngsters, on the impact that carrying and using a knife will have not only on their victims but also on their own lives.
I’m extremely pleased to announce that following our meeting, will be working alongside Peter to deliver free first aid training.
I am very aware that prevention is better than the cure but if people know how to help someone who has been stabbed/cut and get the appropriate help, lives may be saved.

Out of hospital cardiac arrest kills thousands of people every year.
Simple first aid, done well, saves lives.
These steps are easy to follow but if you want to learn more, including how to use a defibrillator, drop me a line and see how I can help.

Having a Stroke can be absolutely debilitating and the person’s life can change beyond all recognition.
Please be aware of any changes you might see in your friends and family or even in people you see whilst out shopping.
Remember:
: B - Balance. Has the person’s balance been affected? Was there a sudden, splitting headache?
: E - Eyes. Has the person’s vision been affected?
: F - Face. Is there any obvious droop to one side of the person’s face?
: Arms. Can the person raise both arms up and (with their eyes closed) keep them there or does one of them drop?
: S - Speech. Is the person’s speech slurred?
: T - Time. Time to call an ambulance on 999 and tell the call handler what has happened. Time is brain cells. The sooner you get help, the more brain cells that can be saved

Please share, you could save someone’s life

Last night I had the pleasure once again of delivering some First Aid training to 1st Matchborough Scout Group (Michelle Hill), this time to the Cubs.
The children were well behaved, very keen and were an absolute delight to teach which is a credit to their Leadership team. Thank you for inviting me back.
