Act first aid is a training provider who delivers many courses. Act First Aid is associated with NUCO Training Ltd and RLSS Qualifications (formally known as IQL). Act First Aid is run by Diego who has over 10+ years experience working in leisure. With help from Jacqueline we deliver a range of RLSS courses such as:

Diego started teaching for his local club before doing his RLSS NPLQ in 2012. He became a first aid Trainer Assessor with NUCO before transferring his Trainer Assessor (TA) qualification to the RLSS. He became a NPLQ trainer assessor in 2018 and up skilled to other RLSS Qualifications (formally known as IQL) courses. Diego and Jacqueline are passionate about spreading water safety message and enjoys teaching a range of skills for the workplace and water safety. That’s sad to see this this morning. We take pride in what we do at Act First Aid but sometimes is not enough.

Following on from our inaugural National Drowning Report (July 2023), we are now able to share a Child Drowning Update for 2024, forming part of our Expert Lens Series.

This new report highlights startling evidence from the National Child Mortality Database (NCMD) which shows that the number of child drowning deaths in England has doubled over the last four years.

No child should drown. And we believe that it is vital to understand as much as possible about the contributing factors in order to raise awareness, grow understanding and ultimately reduce the number of young lives lost. The full report is available to download now from our website.

Yesterday, we had the privilege of delivering training for the amazing team at Acorns Children's Hospice, helping new and existing pool spotters sharpen their skills! It was a fantastic day of learning and support for a truly worthwhile cause.

Today, it's time to get wet and cold as we assess an Open Water Lifeguard Assessment. 💪🌧️ While the conditions may be chilly, we're focused on ensuring everyone is prepared for the challenges of open-water rescue. Safety first, always!

Yesterday was a busy day. Mentored a PTA who passed and then conducted 2 assessment. What a day it was. Well done to all those who passed and good luck for the future career in leisure.
