AN OPEN day at Redditch Crematorium is giving the community a chance to learn more about its services.

The free event will welcome visitors from 11am to 2pm on Saturday, September 13.

Located on Bordesley Lane, Redditch Crematorium requires no appointments or tickets for entry.

The open day will allow residents to tour the chapel and grounds, meet the staff and inquire about the services provided.

Leader and portfolio holder for environmental services, Councillor Sharon Harvey, said: "We understand that many people are curious about what happens at a crematorium but may feel unsure about visiting.

Introduction

I have witnessed the joy of welcoming a new child into the world and have been through the agony of losing close family. I have cooed at baby naming ceremonies, beamed happily at wedding ceremonies and sobbed my heart out at the funerals of family and friends. My life experiences have given me the aptitude to easily empathise with people undergoing change, making me truly passionate about creating a memorable event for you, for all the right reasons.
