Notice

05.01.2021

During the latest national lockdown the office will only be open for essential appointments.

We hope to keep the park open to visitors 7 days a week (9am – 5pm) throughout the current restrictions unless advice changes. However, please only visit if you really feel it to be necessary. We need to make sure our staff remain fit and healthy throughout so we can continue to operate for families most in need. Also, please bear in mind the government guidelines and remember that the best way to stop the spread of the virus is by staying at home. If you are to visit please try to avoid times when we have funerals, as indicated on our website homepage.

Thank you for your understanding.

Please do not drive up into the park in the snow. The driveway will not be gritted and there is a high chance of getting stuck. If you really must visit then it is advised to park by the main gate or office car park and walk up, although these areas will also be covered in snow so please take care. Many thanks

Notice, week commencing 11.05.2020.

We are now open to visitors but please bear the following guidance in mind.
Only visit alone or with other members of your household, do not use the park as a place to gather and meet up with other friends or family.
If visiting on a weekday please check the website for upcoming funerals and avoid visiting if possible, to help enable families to socially distance during services.
The toilets will only be open for funeral services to help minimise the risk of infection so please plan your visit accordingly.
Thank you to everyone for your understanding and patience during these difficult times but please remember the virus hasn’t gone away. Still only visit if it is vital and please stay safe.
From all at Westall Park.

Westall Park Notice, week commencing 20/04/2020

For the time being the gates are to remain closed but will not be locked during the day; the office is to remain closed for now and we are taking essential appointments only.
Please be aware that the Government advice is still to “Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (but only if you cannot work from home).”

For the safety and wellbeing of our staff and to help stop the spread of the virus please do not travel to visit the grounds unless it is absolutely “essential”.

"It is with regret but during these difficult times we have to follow the advice from the government and our own governing body The Association of Natural Burial Grounds and close Westall Park to all visitors for the foreseeable future. This is to ensure the safety of our staff who are key workers and will need to continue to work throughout this pandemic to enable funerals to still take place. I hope you understand our position and please realise this is not a decision we wanted to take.

Please take care and stay safe, from all at Westall Park."

Christmas Notice 2019.
We understand that Christmas is a time for many to remember their loved ones, and often this means wanting to leave something festive at their graveside.
This does go against our ethos, and the amount of rubbish that has to be disposed of by us once the season has ended is not only ecologically unsound but also very time consuming to remove. However, we will accept simple, natural wreaths and cut flowers, but please remember, as always, to take your wrapping with you. It must be noted that decorative Christmas trees and battery operated lights are NOT allowed.
We will be having a big clear up on the 12th day after Christmas onwards, so if there is anything you would like to keep then please do collect it before this date.

The extremely wet autumn has saturated the ground and made areas of the park very muddy and slippy, particularly where we have had recent burials. Please take care to keep vehicles off the grass and make sure appropriate footwear is worn. The same applies if we are set for a big freeze and snow. If snowy conditions become too hazardous we will have to temporarily shut the park and would appreciate your compliance for not entering even if you do have a 4x4!!

The office will be closed during the Christmas period however, the park will be open to visitors throughout, (weather depending).

Dan, Amy, Gem and all at Westall Park would like to wish you a safe and ‘Merry Christmas’.
