PT Luke on why the gym isn’t just physical… it’s mental too 👊

For him, the gym is his biggest way to de-stress. It’s his time to switch off, reset and focus on himself, even on the days where he’s not feeling 100%.

Because showing up matters.

Even if you’re at 50%, even if your head’s not fully in it, you still turned up. And that alone starts to take the weight off everything else going on outside.

Push yourself, get through the session, and you walk out feeling lighter. Not because life’s changed, but because you’ve done something for yourself.

There’s something about it you can’t really explain. The focus, the effort, the sense of achievement after. You get lost in the music, lost in the workout, and for that time, everything else goes quiet.

And it’s not just training on your own.
It’s the people, the conversations, the quick chats, the laughs in between sets. That environment makes a difference.

Whether you come in to clear your head, push yourself, or just be around good people, it all adds up.

Meet Phil, one of our Les Mills instructors at The Fit Club 👊

Sprint is his go-to if you want a proper workout in less time. It’s a 30 minute HIIT cycle class designed to push your strength, power and speed, all while keeping your heart rate up and your sessions efficient.

Short bursts. Short rests. Big results.

If you’re a bit unsure about coming to your first class, that’s completely normal. Phil makes it easy. Just turn up 5 to 10 minutes early and he’ll help you get set up on the bike, show you how everything works and make sure you feel comfortable before you even start.

You go at your own pace, adjust the resistance to suit you and build from there. No pressure, no judgement.

It’s built for everyone, whether you’re just getting started or looking to level up your training.

Tomorrow we’re running our GSN Tasting Event at The Fit Club.

This one’s for you - our members. We know you’re busy, juggling work, training, and everything in between, so we’re bringing you something that actually makes staying on track easier. Proper food, high protein, zero guesswork.

From 5PM–8PM, every member can expect to be greeted with a GSN meal taster on entry. You’ll be able to pick from 3 pot flavours or 2 wrap options - try them, find your favourite, and see what fits your routine.

Shower first.
Control your breathing before you even get in.
Ease yourself in, don’t rush it.
Stay focused, stay calm.

2–3 minutes is all you need - anything more isn’t doing what you think it is.

Then out slowly, reset, and shower again.

Simple changes that make the whole experience a lot better.

ICE BATH, FROM ELLIOT 🧊
“In the moment I felt stiff. I felt like I wasn’t going to move.”

That’s it. Straight in, freezing, panic state. Not thinking about recovery, just trying to control the breathing and stay in it. He lasted 35 seconds, aiming for the minute next time.

After getting out and moving straight into the sauna, everything changed. He felt refreshed, energised, and more relaxed. The stiffness eased off and he actually felt good.

There was some numbness after a bit, but nothing unexpected. And after around 30 seconds, the panic started to calm down and the cold didn’t feel quite as intense.

What stood out most was how it felt after. Slightly less puffy, very tired, and relaxed enough that it could work well as part of a night-time routine - ice, shower, then bed.
