John and I were over the moon to get our 8 1/2 and 8 stone shinies tonight. We joined in late March 2024 and have been losing fairly steadily to get to where we are.

It hasn’t always been easy and there are times you feel like it will never come off and you are disappointed. That’s the time when non scale victories make the difference. Putting a pair of socks on, bending easily, not getting out of breath climbing stairs, not over heating after exertion, walking more , being more “able” to do things. Then there’s your wardrobe and chests of drawers! It’s such a great feeling when you finally fit into something you’ve had for ages, or in my case it was too late. The dress I had been determined to get into was too big by the time I remembered it!

Food optimising has become a way of life and we enjoy trying some of the ideas you all bring to group. SW is so diverse that every cuisine is catered for in our wonderful cookbooks. When I did SW many years ago there wasn’t anywhere like the choices there are today and I’m so glad that so much more great food is out there for us to eat.

Our very grateful thanks to Redditch Slimming World with Kim who has been there for us every step of the way and to my daily guardian Angels Anita Speedy and Claire Ward you’re the best! The group members feel like family now, we look forward to seeing everyone each week and encouraging each other because we all know what it’s like and we’re aiming for a slimmer and fitter us together.
