Health and Care Professions Council Accreditation

When you are looking for someone to help you when you have problems with your feet it is very important to make sure that the person you go to is properly qualified and insured. The governing body for all Podiatrists and Chiropodists is the Health and Care Professions Council.

When you visit an HCPC accredited Podiatrist you know that the person taking care of your feet and providing treatment has undergone and passed a three year BSc (Hons) Degree course in Podiatry. They have also pledged to uphold the strict guidelines laid down by the Health and Care Professions Council, and their training will be ongoing as new treatments and methods are developed to help your feet.

If you have Medical Insurance you may be able to claim back the costs of treatment, this will only be the case if you visit a properly accredited Podiatrist. If you intend claiming against your medical insurance you should always check with your provider that Podiatry is covered by your policy.

Perhaps most important for your peace of mind is that Health and Care Professions Council accredited Podiatrists are trained and recognised by the NHS, unlike other practitioners. At the Foot Care Group all our podiatrists are properly registered with the HCPC. When you see the HCPC Logo you can be sure that your feet are in safe hands.
