999 Day is the UK’s official day to celebrate and thank everyone working and volunteering in the emergency services. 🚓🚒🚑

We’re proud to work alongside the emergency services family as North East Worcestershire First Responders, supporting West Midlands Ambulance Service by providing life-saving care in our local communities. 🧡💚

A huge thank you to all our fellow responders, NHS colleagues, volunteers and support staff who are there when our communities need them most. 👏

If your phone has just made a loud siren-like sound, that was part of the planned Government test. No action is needed.

The system is designed to warn people if there’s a danger to life nearby, such as severe weather or flooding. 🌧️

📢 National Emergency Alerts Test – TODAY 📢

At 3pm today, the UK Government will be carrying out a national test of the Emergency Alerts system.

➡️ A message will appear on your mobile phone, accompanied by a loud siren-like sound and vibration.
➡️ The test will last for about 10 seconds.
➡️ No action is needed – it’s just a test.

This system is designed to warn people if there is a danger to life nearby, such as flooding or severe weather. 🌧️

Phones will make a loud sound even if set to silent. If you have a hidden phone for your safety (for example, if you are experiencing domestic abuse), please ensure it is switched off or alerts are disabled ahead of the test.
