You will have seen the phrase 'Every day is different' linked to working in Social Care. Yesterday, i had the privilege of working with a Lithuanian man who shadowed me. Together, we supported a German lady to spread the ashes of her beloved fiance who passed last January. She lives with MS and struggles to move around her flat. We shared a coffee, shared a moment and shared the day together. We took her shopping to a supermarket afterwards before getting her home safely. Her reaction was "Thank you for helping me, i have waited so long for this".
On the way home, i asked my colleague how he was enjoying his job with Carers Break CIC . His response..." I love my job, i love to help people....it makes my heart feel warm". Every day is not just different, every day is brilliant.
