Are you expecting twins or planning to tandem feed? Cave Babies antenatal class will provide you with practical skills to ensure you feel confident feeding two or possibly more at the same time. Whether you feed your babies at the breast or with a bottle, knowing how to feed two at the same time is an important skill to have in your tool kit. Cave Babies will also talk you through your options - can bottles and dummies be shared? Do you keep one baby to one breast or alternate? We can help you make informed choices and provide skills to back those choices up.

'Monkey see, Monkey do'

We use this saying to imply the act of imitation/mimicry, usually with limited knowledge and/or concern for the consequences. I talk about this with breastfeeding a lot.
Why? Well, because before formula feeding became popular, we saw natural breastfeeding all the time and were more able and likely to imitate the action when it came to feeding our own babies. We already had a template, and even if we didn't have knowledge of how or why it worked, we still had a starting point that was incredibly familiar to us.
Then, formula use boomed, and at a similar time, travel and work opportunities opened up for women, and contraception use became more popular. All of this adds up to women being immersed in the care of newborns less and less, seeing less and less and finding themselves feeling less and less prepared when they have babies of their own.
Cave Babies covers both breast and bottle feeding, as well as a whole host of practical skills to help give you a visual template to work from. This includes why common practice may not be best practice when feeding your babies.

Another AI classic! BUT the lovely thing about this image is how relaxed and content mum and baby look, and bonus points for the paced bottle feeding angle! As an IBCLC, it always surprises me how much I talk about bottle feeding and how passionate I am about paced feeding education. There is such a wealth of support for breastfeeding, but often, parents who bottle feed are left to just get on with it. This can result in some very sad and unsettled babies and tired, frustrated parents! Cave Babies teaches you about how to bottle feed whilst still working with your baby's biological expectations, which ensures more appropriate feeds for happier families.

Tell me you struggle with self-image and perfectionism without telling me. Several tries and not one useable video this afternoon. Why is making a video harder than public speaking?? Anyway, the video will eventually be a brilliant clip about what Cave Babies offers! But I'll be writing myself a script and rehearsing before I try again ☺️

When you're playing with AI for images and you find one you love! And then you look a little closer 🤣🤣
At Cave Babies, we always talk about how, throughout the majority of human evolution, women have raised their babies together, supporting one another. We use the phrase "many hands make light work!" But this takes that a little far! 🤣🤣

This is one of my favourite photos of two WELL on their way to becoming three. Before this photo, I had spent more than a decade helping parents bring their new babies home from the hospital and settling them into life as a new family. I was able to teach them how to care for their babies and was there to address any fears and concerns. All of my experiences with their babies made it possible for me to feel prepared for my own. Throughout most of our evolution, we would all have had this experience with babies before having our own. Now, with modern life and the excitement and freedom that comes with it, many of us no longer have this opportunity. Cave Babies is based on primal parenting skills that help you work harmoniously with your baby. This one-off, two hour class gives you the chance to reclaim some of the knowledge and wisdom of our past.

Whether our babies are breastfed, bottle fed, or have a mixture of both, it is important to understand your baby's biological expectations and how to work with them. Cave Babies looks at all infant feeding methods, simply because babies who are appropriately fed at the breast or with a bottle, are generally happier more settled babies, which in turn makes happier, more rested parents.

There is a saying "It takes a village to raise a baby" and we used to live in a way, which meant each of us had one. Whilst it may not be possible for us to provide you with a village, Cave Babies can provide you with the wisdom and skills that would have been shared from one village mother to the next.
