Today marks World Parkinson’s Day, a time to raise awareness of a condition that affects millions of people and their families💙

For many families, a diagnosis can feel overwhelming. But with the right support, people living with Parkinson’s can continue to live well and maintain their routines for as long as possible.

We also want to recognise the vital role of family carers, who provide ongoing support, reassurance, and advocacy every day. We want you to know that you’re not alone, awareness, understanding and support can make all the difference.

Stress Awareness Month: Supporting Those Who Care 💙

Caring for someone you love is incredibly rewarding but it can also be physically and emotionally demanding. It’s important to recognise when things feel overwhelming and to take moments for yourself where you can.

Stress doesn’t always look the same for everyone. It might be feeling tired, stretched too thin, or simply needing someone to talk to.

At Alexandras Community Care, we understand the pressures that can come with caring. That’s why we’re here not just for our clients, but for the people supporting them too.

It’s Nutrition and Hydration Week 💧🥗

This week is a great reminder of how the small things we do every day can make a big difference to our health.

Something as simple as sharing a meal, making a cup of tea, or reminding someone to have a drink can help people stay well, feel more energised and remain independent for longer.

For many people in our communities, particularly older adults, eating well and staying hydrated isn’t just about health, it’s about connection, comfort and routine.

A friendly check-in, sitting down together for lunch, or offering a glass of water can go further than we realise.

Let’s use this week as an opportunity to look out for one another and encourage simple habits that support wellbeing.

Sometimes the smallest acts of care make the biggest difference.
