I knew today was going to be a long day and that I’d be tired by the time I got home.

The easier option would have been grabbing something out… but that can make staying on plan a lot harder.

Instead, I kept things simple:
quick breakfast, prepared lunch, and dinner sorted thanks to batch cooking.

The whole day finished on 8 SWIPs… which could easily have been a lot more.

Making the small choices keeps me moving forwards.

This is the part of me people don’t always see.

Today my peripheral neuropathy pain is off the scale, so today is a rest day.
Peppermint tea, a sudoku and a small treat (8 SWIPs).

One of the things Slimming World has taught me is that being on plan isn’t about being perfect. It’s about balance.

Even on the quiet days when your body needs you to slow down. 💜

Does anyone else have days where their body tells them it’s time to rest?

This really made me stop and think.

The old me would’ve judged this plate.

I would’ve called it boring.
Too plain.
Not exciting enough.

The new me built it.

Baked sweet potato,
chicken and sweetcorn mixed with yoghurt, and a big lush salad on the side. Nothing fancy. Nothing “diet-y”. Just balanced.

What’s changed isn’t just what’s on the plate — it’s how I see it.

I’ve learned that it’s not about eating less.
It’s about building meals properly so I’m full, satisfied and not grazing later.

That shift in mindset is where real progress happens.

This really made me stop and think today.

For years, a Tesco meal deal was just a quick grab-and-go for me. I didn’t really think about what I was choosing, just that it was easy and convenient.

What Slimming World has genuinely changed for me isn’t just what’s on my plate, but how I see everyday meals.

Same shop. Same meal deal.
But now I pause, look at my options, and choose food that’s going to keep me fuller, fuel my body better, and still fit into real life.

This isn’t about “good” or “bad” food, and it’s definitely not about perfection.
It’s about awareness, confidence, and knowing you do have choices — even in places you’ve shopped a hundred times before.

Small changes like this are exactly how long-term habits are built.

Yesterday was a reminder that looking after ourselves isn’t just one thing 💛

Movement for my mind, then a chicken & mushroom risotto with spinach, made creamy with quark, loads of Speed veg, and a fruit salad with Fage yoghurt and a meringue nest (2.5 SWIPs) finished my day off.

Comfort food doesn’t have to leave you feeling uncomfortable.
This is Slimming World at its best.
