𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐀 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 & 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬
As some of you may already be aware, from March 2026 there will be a significant change to how repeat prescriptions are ordered through Reepham and Aylsham Medical Practice.

Paper repeat prescription slips will no longer be printed, and community pharmacies will no longer be able to order repeat prescriptions on your behalf.

Instead, all repeat prescriptions must be ordered directly by the patient (or their proxy) and will be managed electronically. This is part of a move towards a greener, more efficient, and safer system.

You can absolutely continue using Guppy at Reepham Motts Pharmacy to dispense your medication — but you will need to order your prescription yourself directly from the surgery.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫
Patients are being encouraged to set up an NHS account using the NHS App (preferred option) or the NHS website.

The NHS App is recommended as it is simple to use and allows communication from multiple providers (this feature is not available when using a desktop computer alone).

We have spoken directly with Reepham Surgery, and they have advised that there will also be an automated telephone line available to order repeat medication for those who prefer not to use digital services.

𝐖𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠
For many within our elderly community, this change may feel confusing or worrying - especially for those who are not confident with smartphones or online systems.

𝐖𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞
We attended the NHS Norfolk & Waveney ICB Digital Connect Conference last May, where we spoke directly with NHS App developers about the limitations families face.

Currently, the NHS App allows you to access a linked profile and act on behalf of someone else if you are both registered at the same GP surgery.

With consent, you can:
✔ Order repeat prescriptions
✔ Book appointments
✔ View GP health records

This is extremely helpful for supporting elderly relatives.

𝐻𝑜𝑤𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟, 𝑎𝑡 𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑒𝑛𝑡, 𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑘𝑒𝑑 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑓𝑖𝑙𝑒𝑠 𝑜𝑛𝑙𝑦 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘 𝑖𝑓 𝑏𝑜𝑡ℎ 𝑝𝑒𝑜𝑝𝑙𝑒 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑟𝑒𝑔𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑎𝑚𝑒 𝐺𝑃 𝑝𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑒. The NHS App representatives informed us that enabling access across different GP surgeries is something they are actively working on, but it is not yet available.

In an emergency, every second counts. A cardiac arrest can happen anywhere, to anyone — and knowing where your nearest defibrillator (AED) is located could quite literally save a life.
A defibrillator is designed to be used by anyone. They give clear, step-by-step voice instructions and will only deliver a shock if it’s needed. You cannot cause harm by using one — but not using one when it’s available can cost precious time.

Yes… she actually bought me this book.
