🐰 Furry and scaly visitors at Priors Mead 🦎

Thanks to the lovely Kingswood Shetlands team, we had some extra-special guests this week — guinea pigs, rabbits, and even a bearded dragon!

There was plenty of curiosity, laughter, and gentle hands — quite a few happy bunnies that afternoon, not to mention leaping lizards and some very well-fed guinea pigs. 💛

Keeping fit by thinking outside the box

At Priors Mead, we believe that staying active is about more than just movement – it’s about keeping both body and mind strong. That’s why we love welcoming Vince, our dedicated fitness trainer, who brings fun and fresh ways to stay fit. From boxing gloves to balance exercises, Vince makes sure our residents enjoy keeping active while also keeping spirits high. We were delighted to welcome the fantastic Andy Mace to Priors Mead Care Home, where he treated our residents to an afternoon of live music, fun, and nostalgia! 💃🕺

There were smiles, toe-tapping, and even a few dance moves as Andy’s performance brought joy and energy to everyone in the room. Thank you, Andy, for sharing your talent and bringing music into our hearts. We can’t wait for your next visit!

The Priors Mead Easter Party 2024 what a wonderful day! Andy Mace set the party tone, our chef wowed us all with roast lamb and buffet options, and sweet treats delighted everyone. Claire's Easter quiz added fun, and the egg hunt was a highlight, bringing laughter and joy to all!
We want to thank everyone for coming and we hope you all enjoyed yourselves.

This week at Priors Mead, we've been unleashing our creativity with egg decorating, gearing up for Easter. Our spirits were lifted with a lively visit from Linley, inspiring us to move and groove. Additionally, we indulged in a movie afternoon, where 'Goodnight Mister Tom' captivated us—eliciting a few tears, indeed…

This week at Priors Mead, we joyfully commemorated St. Patrick's Day alongside baking and decorating green cupcakes - yummy! The residents thoroughly enjoyed a visit from Kingswood Shetlands and Friends ; Animal Assisted Therapy improves people's mental, physical, social and emotional functioning with the aid of animals which our residents really enjoyed. Further along in the week we enjoyed the remarkable vocals of one of our favourite singers; Andy. Our day was further brightened with delightful moments spent in the garden, enjoying balloon games under the Spring sunshine and relishing a delicious lunch.

This week at Prior's Mead has been bustling with activity. We kicked things off by sharing our photos from Mother's Day, ensuring all the Mums had a wonderful celebration. Happy belated Mother's Day to all!
Our week's activities began with the celebration of Jean's birthday, where she chose a takeaway from McDonald's along with McFlurrys, enjoyed by everyone. Midweek, we engaged in some Slow Yoga and gentle exercise led by Linley, helping us to improve our mood, strength and stay active. Later on, we were treated to the soothing sounds of Mark and his guitar, always bringing a smile to our faces. Tonight, we eagerly anticipate the lovely voice of Anthony, who will be performing live music for us.

Looking ahead to the weekend, we're excited to celebrate Red Nose Day with the fantastic tunes of Andy Mace. On Sunday, we'll raise a nice cold Guinness for St. Patrick's Day. Cheers to a wonderful week ahead!
