✨ Facilitator Friday ✨
Today I would love to introduce Naomi, one of our very first facilitators and a core part of our Epsom Grow and Glow group. Naomi has been part of the Grow and Glow journey from the early days and brings so much care, strength, and understanding to the women she supports. 🫶🏻
She is always putting others first, whether that is facilitating the Epsom group or being there for the other facilitators.
Here is what Naomi shared about her experience.
Hello, my name is Naomi. I am a mum to five boys, a nanny to two, and a wife to be. I am also a facilitator at our Epsom Grow and Glow group, although this is not how my Grow and Glow journey began.
I joined Grow and Glow because of the road my life has taken. I am a domestic violence survivor and I live with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, depression, abandonment issues, and fibromyalgia. These are things I deal with every day, particularly fibromyalgia, which brings many challenges.
For a long time I kept my feelings locked away and felt myself slipping into another period of depression. I began searching for a private therapist so I could talk freely without feeling like I was placing the weight of my experiences onto friends and family.
While searching, I came across a post on Facebook for a women only peer support group called Grow and Glow. I took it as a sign and decided to attend.
Walking in for the first time was terrifying and I nearly turned back, but I pushed myself through the door. What I found was a breath of fresh air. Listening to other women share, knowing I was not alone, and feeling heard and understood without judgement meant everything to me.
As the weeks went by, Grow and Glow began to feel like home. After a conversation with Charley, I was offered the chance to become part of the facilitator team. I jumped at the opportunity and I am so grateful to be part of something so special.
I still attend as a woman who shares her struggles and I continue to feel supported by every member of the group. Thank you for taking the time to listen. I will return that care when you need to be heard too. 🫶🏻
