Diagnosing high cholesterol through your eyes!

A simple eye check could reveal more than you think 👁️

Red blood cells can’t enter the cornea — they loop back at the edge.
Cholesterol particles, however, are small enough to diffuse through and leave deposits.

This is one of the reasons regular eye examinations are so important — not just for your sight, but for your general health too.

Did you know your eyes can reveal signs of high cholesterol? 👁️

At the edge of the cornea (the limbus), red blood cells flow through tiny vessels and naturally loop back. However, cholesterol particles are much smaller — they can diffuse through and deposit in these areas.

These subtle changes are sometimes visible during an eye examination, which is why routine eye tests can play a role in identifying underlying health conditions.

👉 If spotted, we always recommend a follow-up with your GP for further checks.

Your eye test is about more than just vision 👓
It’s a simple check — but it could make a big difference to your overall health.

What do you think would happen if blood vessels entered the cornea? 👇

Your cornea stays clear because vessels don’t enter it—they stop right at the edge.
A small detail… with a huge impact on your vision.

Understanding your eyes is the first step to protecting them.

One of the fascinating wonders inside the human eye 👁️

The transparent cornea and the white sclera are both made from the same material — collagen.

So why is one clear while the other is opaque?

The difference lies in the microscopic arrangement of the fibres.

• In the cornea, collagen fibres are perfectly organised, allowing light to pass through.
• In the sclera, the fibres are arranged randomly, scattering light and making it opaque.

The same building blocks — but a completely different result.

Moments like this remind us how remarkably precise the design of the human body truly is.

Part4: Layers of precision in the human eye.

Within the cornea, collagen fibres are arranged in beautifully organised layers.
Each layer (in corneal stroma) is perfectly aligned, and between layers, the direction subtly changes — often nearing right angles.

This intricate structure helps reduce light scatter, allowing the cornea to remain clear and letting light pass through smoothly.

A small structural detail…
yet it plays a vital role in how we see the world around us.

SubhanAllah — precision in every layer.

Same material, completely different outcome.

The white of your eye (sclera) and the clear window at the front (cornea) are both made of collagen.
Yet one is opaque… and the other is perfectly transparent.

Why?

Because of how those fibres are arranged.

✔ In the sclera → fibres are scattered and disorganised → light is blocked
✔ In the cornea → fibres are precisely aligned → light passes through clearly

Same substance. Different structure.
And that tiny difference is what allows you to see the world.

A beautiful reminder that precision in creation is never random.
