There is no cost of living crisis, there is a greed crisis. The wholesale cost of oil is lower today than in 2009, the wholesale cost of fuel is lower today than in 2015 and the price of electricity is lower than it has been for 5 years. Everything is rising and that’s because we ALLOW it to. The reason why these energy companies are making millions in PROFIT is because they are lying to you. They wouldn’t be making hundreds of millions in profits, if the wholesale for everything was up as much as they’ve said it’s been.
It’s time to take back our power, WE are the 99%. The second we realise that and we say no, stuff will change. Did you know that if no bills were paid for only 24 hours that southern waters stock prices would decrease by 19%, that if no money was spent for 24 hours that the banking interest rates would DROP, there are so many more benefits to this but we HAVE to all stand together.
I am pledging, that for 24 hours we press pause on everything. We threaten them with the power that we have and let them SEE what we are capable of. Do not go into work, do not send your child to school, do not pay any bills, do not fuel your car, do not go to the shop, do not use public transport… treat it as a family day.
To get everyone on board, this needs to be realistic. Not everyone is ready to cancel their direct debits or change their meters. Not everyone is able to cancel their council tax and quit their job…. BUT everyone IS capable of bringing the country to a standstill.
This may not work, this may be a lost cause, but I will NOT stand around and try nothing. This is worth a try. We DESERVE it. We deserve to not have to choose between fuel and food. Between keeping warm and keeping our bellies full. Our children deserve a revolution.
