Did you know we offer covid tests free on a NHS funded service. All patients that fall into any of the categories listed below can obtain a free box of lateral flow tests.

The highest risk group includes people who have:

🔹️chromosomal disorders that affect the immune system, including Down’s syndrome
🔹️certain types of cancer, or have had a cancer removed in the last 12 months
🔹️had either radiotherapy or chemotherapy in the last 12 months
🔹️sickle cell disease
🔹️certain conditions affecting the blood or have received a haematological stem cell transplant
🔹️chronic kidney disease (CKD) stage 4 or 5
🔹️severe liver disease
🔹️had an organ transplant
🔹️certain autoimmune conditions or 🔹️inflammatory conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis or inflammatory bowel disease who may be receiving certain medications
🔹️HIV or AIDS
🔹️a rare neurological condition (such as multiple sclerosis, Huntington’s disease, motor neurone disease or myasthenia gravis)
🔹️an impaired immune system due to either a condition or certain medications

Both MDIs and DPIs contain the same medicines, therefore as long as a patient can safely use a DPI there will be no difference in patient treatment.

There's no cure for hayfever but most people relieve their symptoms with treatment. You can get the best relief from hayfever using a combination of allergy medications, for example taking antihistamine tablets as well as using an eye drop or nasal spray.

If you normally get your prescription every 28 days, this could be extended to 56 days during your next review. This could mean collecting your medication every two months.

This will reduce the number of trips you need to make to a community pharmacy/ GP.

Some patients may not be able to extend the prescription date as this will depend on the types of medication you take and if you need any additional support for your medication.

Please help us to help you by ordering your prescriptions 7 days in advance of when they are due to allow time for both the GP and ourselves to deal with the request.

Please continue to only order what you need and return any unused or unwanted medication to us for safe disposal. Order your medication through the surgeries or give us a call.

Do you know that your pharmacist can help with many aspects of managing your Asthma through INHALER REVIEW SERVICE provided in our pharmacy

If you think you're not getting the full benefit of your Inhalers you may need to check that you're using them right, you can ask the pharmacist in branch to check your inhaler technique.

If you haven't had an Asthma or COPD review with your HP or nurse and you're worried about your symptoms, ask the Pharmacist to do the review, GP referral will be sent if needed after the consultation.
