Proud Daddy Moment, please support if you can.
From Cadence Whitworth
Hey everyone! I’d really appreciate if you took the time to ready this post:)
I'm excited to share with you what I've been up to for the past three months here in South Africa, where I’m volunteering with an amazing organisation. Education continue to make a real difference in the community and I’d love to help further support their hard work. KHULA means to grow or to thrive and their organisation is great at supporting their students to do so.
Being here I’ve met so many lovely people, everyone within this community is extremely friendly and welcoming.
I'm working with young children, within the KHULA schools where I’m helping them build their speech and English skills, and it's been such a rewarding experience!
I'm planning on volunteering for the next 3 months and I’m reaching out to ask for your support in helping me make an even bigger impact. I'm hoping to collect donations of all kinds to gift to the schools I work with and the local community.
For the schools, we'd appreciate equipment like pencils, Colouring books, pens, erasers, socks for ages 3-5, sun hats, woolly hats, reading books and even any activity based learning games/activities. This is not a list nor limited, all support helps. Second-hand items are more than welcome – anything you're willing to gift would be greatly appreciated!
Specifically we would love some coding and robotics contributions as Kuhla is currently introducing this as a new subject to students!
I will also attach a link to a donation website for the KHULA coffee club that helps in providing the children’s meals at KHULA. This money goes straight to supporting the KHULA preschools in feeding their children during the school day. The children are always provided with two hot meals a day!!

For the local community, I'm hoping to raise money or gather donations for sports equipment. I was recently lucky enough to watch a local soccer competition where some players were playing barefoot or in dress shoes because they didn't have proper footwear. I'd love to collect trainers, football boots, football socks, sports/football kits, footballs, shin pads, and cones to help them out. They play on uneven grounds and use an old plastic bottle and a rock to mark the center of the pitch, cones or markers of any condition would be greatly appreciated. Shoes in sizes adults 6-13 are a great focus but any and all shoes and sizes are greatly appreciated. If you have any sporty style footwear or equipment that you no longer need, instead of throwing away please donate as we can find a great new home for them here!
I’ve attached a collage of memories I’ve made so far during my time here, to give you a glimpse of the area I'm working in. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a real difference. If you're unable to donate, sharing this post would help me reach a wider audience and would be greatly appreciated.
For dropping donations we have two collection points. I have so much support from my amazing family to help make this happen! As I’m hoping this post will reach a wide spread of areas, we will be accepting the donations at two locations, one in North Yorkshire at the home of A&E Training LTD, 12 Whitefields Gate, and one in Manchester at CharleyGirl HairSalon Julie Blanchon. 54 Old Church Street. Please feel free to DM me with any questions you may have!
Thank you so much in advance for taking this time to read this and for all your support! 🙏
