Had a discussion with a co mentor yesterday about some advanced bike training companies and the credentials of those delivering said advice.

It appears that a number of companies are now struggling to get suitably qualified and experienced riders and are using terms such as “emergency service trained” or “cascading emergency service principles”.

Who you use for your advanced riding provisions is down to you but take some time to drill down into what real qualifications and experience the person who is delivering that training has and is it what you want learn from and are you will to pay for that level of experience.

Ask yourself what do those terms really mean, does it mean they’ve done a Bikesafe day and hence can say they have had some emergency service training?

As for cascading emergency service principles in reality meant they were using Roadcraft as the basis for their training and charging a hefty fee for it.

There are lots of providers to suit all styles, wants and needs of advanced riding experiences. Before handing over your hard earned cash check you will be getting what you want from those with suitable skills and experience.

Just two more days until our next tour. FTT South West takes us south down through Dorset and then over to Devon on day one.

Day two takes us up to the north coast of Cornwall before returning to Devon for the second nights stay.

Day three returns us back up through Dorset, Hampshire and Surrey.

Over 600 miles on all sorts of roads to test and hone those advanced riding skills.

We’ll try to remember to post some pictures of the sunshine and countryside along with the bikes.

Another successful tour with four riders given some expert mentoring over two days. These tours are designed to hone skills with challenging roads of all types covering a variety of roads.

On this tour we had riders who hold various civilian advanced riding qualifications and wanted to receive honest, constructive feedback.

Yet again FTT Advanced delivered as requested across the board. From routes, stops, hotel, quality of mentoring to that all
Important banter keeping things little hearted and encouraging.

Well done to everyone who took part, it was hard work but everyone improved massively.

Day one of FTT Wales 2025 carried out in glorious sunshine. This is the first tour of the year where the riders get a chance to hone their skills on some fantastic roads.

Plenty of overtaking opportunities and loads of fast sweeping bends along with chocolate box type rolling hills with technical bends that are challenging but also great fun.

Plenty of stops to debrief and chat over where improvements could be made as well as compliments on things done well.

Great start to the tour and the year.

2025 tour places have been released. There are two Wales overnighters, one three day Wales taking us up to North Wales on day two and two three day tours to the South West taking us all the way over to Cornwall.

The tours to the continent are now bespoke requests, we have two which increase in intensity, the first to the Ardennes and then the ultimate to the Eiffel region.

What a year it’s been! We’re thrilled to share the highlights from our Advanced mentoring tours and presentations with motorcycle groups across the country. 🌟

This year, we’ve had the pleasure of connecting with passionate riders and leading some truly engaging sessions. From advanced riding techniques to in-depth debriefing on our unique motorcycle tours, we’ve been on the road helping motorcyclists elevate their skills and knowledge.

A massive thank you to all the motorcycle groups and riders who joined us. Your enthusiasm and dedication made each event a fantastic experience, and we couldn’t have done it without you!

Whether you were perfecting your cornering or diving deep into overtaking skills, your commitment to mastering your ride inspires us every day.

Been a busy few weeks for us with three tours to Wales and our first new tour to the South West.

We managed to come up with some great new roads to push the participants skill levels as well as keeping in some old favours of ours.

It’s great see new people joining the tours from both the IAM and RoSPA groups and of course we still have a really high returning customer base adding to the mix.

Great fun and we look forward to the rest of the year with more tours to run.

We gave another presentation last week this time to a packed house at Wey Valley Advanced Motorcyclists on motorways and dual carriageways. We all travel so many miles on these roads and yet we don’t really pay attention to them.

We opened some minds with new knowledge and ideas on making the best use of them.

Thanks for the warm welcome and for your attention everyone that was there.

We’ve had lots of positive feedback on the evening and hopefully some will be joining us on a tour soon.

Busy start to the year even though some aren’t riding at this time of the year. We’ve been out mentoring and examining plus we have some presentations lined up at advanced groups in the coming months.

There are seven tours on the calendar this year including a couple of bespoke tours. Managed to get to 78 days in Europe in 180 which is very close to the limit last year.

Looking forward to better weather, riding with like minded riders and enjoying the all the different routes we have lined up.

If you would like to have a ”brush up” ride to clear the cobwebs out get in touch and don’t forget we have reserve lists for our tours in case someone drops out. We look forward to hearing from you, stay safe.

Wishing everyone a happy and prosperous new year. We hope that your 2024 is better than last year and more of you will join us for mentoring, presentations and tours.

Although our planned tours have sold out already we do run reserve lists and will look to provide extra dates subject to demand.

We also provide 1:1 sessions ranging from a couple of hours right through to two nights away for a truly immersive mentored experience.

We are currently taking bookings for group presentations to bring our unique experience and concepts to you enhance your riding. If your group has a social night or meeting and would like an entertaining talk look no further.
