HUGE THANK YOU to NORTH STREET GARAGE who came to our rescue today. We had managed to negotiate the traffic into Lewes, but with a puncture in our limousine tyre!!! North Street dropped everything and flew to the rescue. They swapped the wheel so we could continue our journey. Amazingly, despite the traffic (again) we arrived at Isfield Church on time! Thank you so much 💋

Christmas. Not easy when you’re walking with grief.

Each year I have a memorial tree in my office, to remember those who we love, but see no longer.

You’re very welcome to write a star.

The tree will be lit and loved throughout December until twelfth night.

Just a little shout out to this glorious idea, locally produced in Worthing, using UK wildflowers.



The attention to detail and thought gone into creating these seed bombs is wonderful.

Packaged as favours for the funeral or created afterwards using ashes of a loved one to scatter at home or somewhere beautiful.

Seeds may be chosen for a range of flowers or soil types.

The Lewes Bereavement Circle is a completely free therapeutic group for anyone affected by the death of a close family member, friend or colleague.

They are open to anyone within Lewes and local surrounding villages.

The circle is facilitated by a qualified councillor, based in Lewes, and three volunteers, all with either counselling or active bereavement experience.

Each bereavement circle lasts 7 weeks, every Wednesdays, 1.15pm to 2.30pm. There is the chance for tea, biscuits and a chat afterwards.

They can offer 12 places per session - completely free of charge, no hidden costs.

Due to major maintenance work and refurbishments, Woodvale Crematorium, Brighton will be closed for all services and cremations from Thursday 15 August until Wednesday 11 September.

Woodvale Lodge will remain open throughout this period. The Garden of Remembrance and the Hall of Memory will still be accessible.

From 11 September the crematorium will be open on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays until 30 September when they will be back to normal opening hours.

Alternative crematoriums are:
The Downs Crematorium, Brighton
Wealden Crematorium, Horam
Eastbourne Crematorium
Worthing Crematorium

People will instead have to work with their funeral director to find an alternative location.

A few updates at Wealden Crematorium…..

Something I love about them is that they keep improving and adding to an already glorious space.

A practice very close to my heart.

Huge, living wall planters have been used to soften the walls near the reflection pool where starlings take a bath and pied-wagtails have been nesting.

The floral court is in full scent, edged by a natural willow fence which is beginning to fill in nicely.

Best of all…….air conditioning has been installed in the ceremony hall…….bliss…
