We know that following the pre-treatment and post-treatment advice is important for minimising side effects and maximising results.

After lip filler treatment, some swelling is expected. This is usually short-lived, but it is not uncommon for your lips to feel larger than they will ultimately be once the swelling has resolved.

Save this post to refer back to after your lip filler treatment, and don't forget that you can always contact us if something is worrying you.

Thinning hair can significantly affect confidence, for men and women. Fortunately, there are a number of ways to address this and help build your confidence back up.

First, it's important to rule out any medical causes of hair loss, such as iron deficiency, cancer, or acute illness. Once any underlying medical conditions have been addressed, there are a number of treatments that can help to improve the appearance of thinning hair.

One treatment option is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment. PRP is a blood-derived treatment that is injected into the scalp to stimulate hair growth. PRP is a safe and effective treatment that has been shown to improve hair growth in both men and women.

Another treatment option is HydraFacial Keravive. HydraFacial Keravive is a non-surgical treatment that uses a combination of acids, vitamins, and minerals to exfoliate the scalp and stimulate hair growth. HydraFacial Keravive is a safe and effective treatment that can be used to improve the appearance of thinning hair.

The combination of both of these treatments, with certain supplements and topical at-home products, can make a huge difference.

If there is no growth at all in an area of the scalp, no treatment except a hair transplant will make hair sprout there again. However, if there are still some viable hair follicles, PRP or Keravive can encourage growth.

To find out more about these treatments, book a consultation with us. Our consultations are free until the end of June. You can book a consultation by clicking the link in my bio.

Post-treatment reviews may feel unnecessary, but here are a few reasons why we feel they are hugely important:

🔵 We can assess the result of your treatment and whether it has met your expectations.

🔵 We can discuss if there were any side effects or complications and how we can help rectify them or reduce the chance of them happening in the future.

🔵 We can plan your ongoing treatment schedule and reassess your goals.

🔵 You can discuss any further concerns or issues with us.

🔵 You can track your progress with the help of before and after photographs.

These review appointments are especially important if you are a new patient with us.

Even if a review appointment is not scheduled, you are always entitled to one complimentary review after your treatment. We will always endeavour to make time in the clinic day to fit you in should you need to.

As medical professionals, we are bound by the ethical principle of do no harm. This principle applies to both physical and psychological harm.

If we believe that a treatment is not in your best interest, we may refuse to provide it. This could be because the treatment is too risky, it is not effective, or it is not medically necessary.

We may also refuse to provide a treatment if we believe that it is being requested for the wrong reasons. For example, if we believe that you are seeking treatment to meet unrealistic beauty standards.

We understand that it can be frustrating to hear that a treatment is not possible. However, our goal is to keep you safe and healthy, and sometimes we believe that refusing to provide a treatment that is not in your best interest, is the best way to do that.

If you have any questions or concerns about a treatment, please feel free to discuss them with us. We are here to help you make the best decision for your health.

The aesthetic industry is notoriously under-regulated, but there are some great resources where you can find someone who is qualified, regulated, insured, and safe.

1️⃣ Check the practitioner's registration. You can check whether your practitioner is registered and legally allowed to practice with the General Medical Council (GMC), Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), or General Dental Council (GDC).

2️⃣ Check the clinic's registration. You can check whether the clinic where you will receive your treatment is registered with Save Face. To be registered on Save Face, practitioners undergo a rigorous 116-point assessment. The clinic environment is also assessed so you know that the clinic is meeting professional standards.

3️⃣ Check the practitioner's membership. You can check whether the practitioner is a member of a professional organization, such as the British College of Aesthetic Medicine (BCAM). This shows that the practitioner is committed to continuing education and upholding high standards of practice.

4️⃣ Read reviews. Websites like Glowday offer patients the ability to read reviews of qualified, regulated and insured practitioners and clinics online. This can give you a good sense of what other patients have experienced.

It is important to do your research and choose an aesthetic practitioner who is qualified, regulated, insured, and experienced. This will help to ensure that you have a safe and positive experience.

As a medical doctor in aesthetics, I am committed to providing you with the highest quality care.

Make sure you choose an aesthetic practitioner who also has your safety as their top priority.

Choosing to have aesthetic treatments is a very personal decision.

We understand that everyone has different preferences and thresholds for treatments. That is why we offer a range of options to suit everyone.

If you are unsure about anti-wrinkle treatment, you may want to know about other options that can help to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Collagen-boosting treatments, such as Profhilo, microneedling, PRP and Morpheus 8, can be a great option for people who want to avoid anti-wrinkle treatments.

These treatments work by stimulating your body's natural collagen production. Collagen is a protein that gives your skin its strength and elasticity. As you age, your body produces less collagen, which can lead to the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Collagen-boosting treatments can help to increase collagen production and improve the appearance of your skin.

While these treatments may require more patience than anti-wrinkle treatments, they can be a safe and effective way to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. If you are interested in learning more about collagen-boosting treatments, please schedule a consultation with us. We can discuss your options and recommend the best treatment for you.

It's not uncommon to see poorly placed or excessive filler causing migration, which can make it obvious that you've had work done. We understand that you want to achieve natural-looking results that enhance your features, not scream, "I've had filler!"

Some signs that you may have had filler migration include the appearance of new lumps near the previously treated area, discolouration under the skin, an unnatural ledge above the lips, and tissue that does not move naturally with your expressions.

That's why, as medical professionals, we take the time to assess your unique anatomy and physiology before recommending any treatments. If we notice any previous filler that has migrated, we will suggest dissolving it before proceeding with new filler placement.

By taking a comprehensive and personalised approach, we can ensure that your filler is placed in a way that minimises the risk of migration and achieves your desired outcome. Don't settle for subpar results - trust our expertise to help you achieve natural-looking, beautiful results.

If you want a thorough assessment of your dermal filler, you can book a consultation with me in clinic via the link in the bio.

A quick reminder of what to do immediately after your PRP treatment:

🔵Avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol for 24 hours. This will help to reduce swelling and bruising.

🔵Keeping the skin clean by using clean pillows and towels after the procedure. Avoid touching your face unless you have clean hands, as this will help to prevent infection.

🔵Clean all your makeup brushes, glasses, or anything that will touch your face. This will help to prevent infection.

🔵Do not expose the area to intense heat or sunlight for at least 24 hours. This will help to prevent further bruising.

🔵Pain relief, such as paracetamol, may be taken for any discomfort, but we recommend avoiding ibuprofen for 24 hours as this can increase the risk of bleeding or bruising.

🔵Avoid hair washing for 48 hours after your procedure, especially if you have had PRP treatment to the scalp.

If you want to learn more about PRP treatment and whether it will be the right option for you, book your consultation via the link in my bio. We can have an in-depth conversation and create a personalised treatment plan for you.

Don't forget to save this to refer back to after your treatment!

We all know that looking down at our phones can be bad for our necks. But did you know that it can also cause neck lines on the skin?

When you look down at your phone, you are essentially creasing the skin on your neck. This can lead to the formation of horizontal lines, also known as "tech neck".

There are a few things you can do to prevent necklines from looking down at your phone:

1. Hold your phone higher or use a stand or a phone holder. This will help to reduce the amount of strain on your neck.

2. Take breaks from looking at your phone. Every 20 minutes, look away from your phone and focus on something else for 20 seconds. This will help to reduce the amount of strain on your neck and eyes.

3. Improve your posture. When you sit or stand, keep your back straight, and your shoulders relaxed. This will help to reduce the amount of strain on your neck.

4. Apply your skincare to your neck as well as your face. Retinol, antioxidants, exfoliants, moisturisers and sunscreen are all suitable for the neck as well.

7. If these lines really bother you, there are a number of in-clinic treatments that might help. These include microneedling, skin boosters like Profhilo or even dermal fillers.

If you are concerned about neck lines, please schedule a consultation with us. We can discuss your options and recommend the best treatment for you.
