🐑 Be aware of NEMATODIRUS in your lambs - Hatching is happening! 🐛

The Nematodirus hatching forecast from SCOPS is live, and it shows hatching in progress in many areas. This means your lambs could be at risk of infection right now. 👉 Each coloured dot on the map represents a weather station and the current nematodirus risk level in that area.

🔍 Why this matters:

Nematodirus battus can hatch suddenly when temperatures rise after cold weather, and young lambs grazing pasture are particularly vulnerable.

The map uses a simple traffic-light colour system:

Grey: negligible hatching
Yellow: minimal hatching
Orange: hatching imminent
Red: hatching in progress
Black: peak hatching

Click on the nearest station to you for more local details.

🗣️ Action to take:
Talk to your ACT Area Manager about controlling this disease and options for treatment or management - especially if your lambs are ~6+ weeks old and starting to graze. Early awareness can make a big difference.

📢UPDATE - PARKING AT YAMS 📢
Following the recent heavy rainfall, a number of car parks on site have been impacted requiring some changes to the normal parking arrangements.

A huge effort has been made to ensure the show can go ahead as planned while meeting all health and safety requirements and we are pleased to confirm a completely full house of exhibitors, including over 30 new exhibitors and a number of exciting product launches.

However, parking is our primary concern. All overflow parking areas at York Auction Centre, Murton will be closed because they are currently too wet to use safely, even for 4x4 vehicles. Accessible parking will still be available next to the showground for visitors who require it.

Parking and transport arrangements:
To help manage parking, the following off-site options will be in place:

• Elvington Airfield, YO41 4AU
Extensive off-site parking is available on hardstanding ground, approximately 3 miles from the showground. This site will be clearly signposted. Three shuttle buses will run continuously throughout the day to provide efficient transport to and from the showground.

• Grimston Bar Park & Ride, YO19 5LA
Additional parking capacity is available, with two shuttle buses operating to and from the showground throughout the day.

• B&Q Hull Road, YO10 3JA
A further 100 parking spaces are available at this location, with a dedicated shuttle bus operating to and from the showground throughout the day.

Operating times:
All Park & Ride services will run from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and all parking and shuttle transport is free of charge.

We kindly ask for your support by making full use of the FREE Park & Ride facilities to help ensure smooth access for everyone.

The show promises to be an excellent event and we look forward to welcoming everyone for another great day at YAMS on Wednesday 4th February.
