I have been invited to devise and conduct an unusual ceremony of committal for the family and many friends of Luke Earnshaw. Details as follows.
Luke's Farewell Boat Journey, Saturday 1630hrs, 9th July, 2022 sets off from Bouroughbridge Marina via Canal Garage Cutting (bridge) to Westwick Lock on the River Ure. There a ceremony of committal will be conducted by Nicholas Boole Master Celebrant beginning at 18.00.
Luke’s friends write:
Our boat, " STEADY AWAY" will be highly decorated/ embellished with all manner of bright, vivid colours and items reflecting aspects of Luke’s life. This is being organised and managed by Stephanie Rigby, David Pearson, (Did) and other members of the crew. We will also have some very audible Luke and crew music which we played many times and on numerous previous trips with Luke.
Those who wish to meet us when we arrive at W/Lock are asked to be there by 5.30 pm. You will be greeted by Nicholas Boole, who will be conducting the ceremony on our behalf. During this farewell Luke's ashes will be offered into the River Ure, for his final peaceful journey downstream. We look forward to this momentous and final farewell for dear Luke and are doing it for his family, friends and all of you who care: you all count. Please share. Thank you
