Layola Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our growing community care team. This is a key role supporting both service users and care staff, ensuring the highest standards of person-centred care are delivered consistently across the community.
π‘ Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality, compassionate, and person-centred care to individuals in their own homes while supporting, supervising, and developing care staff in the community. The Senior Care Assistant will play a vital role in spot checks, competency assessments, and maintaining compliance with CQC standards.
πΉ Key Responsibilities
Care Delivery
Provide safe, respectful, and person-centred care in service usersβ homes
Support with personal care, mobility, nutrition, emotional wellbeing, and daily living tasks
Promote dignity, independence, choice, and privacy at all times
Observe, monitor, and report changes in service usersβ health or wellbeing
Staff Supervision & Development
Carry out spot checks to monitor quality of care in the community
Complete competency assessments in line with Layola Care policies and the Care Certificate
Support new starters through induction and shadowing
Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and ongoing support to care staff
Act as a positive role model and first point of support for carers in the field
Records & Documentation
Ensure care records and daily notes are accurate and completed on time
Review documentation completed by care staff and address issues promptly
Report incidents, accidents, and concerns in line with company procedures
Communication & Teamwork
Maintain effective communication with care staff, coordinators, managers, service users, and families
Escalate safeguarding, quality, or performance concerns appropriately
Participate in team meetings, supervisions, and service user reviews
Safeguarding, Quality & Compliance
Uphold Layola Careβs values, policies, and procedures
Ensure care delivery meets CQC regulations and best practice standards
Identify and report safeguarding concerns in line with procedures
Promote safe working practices, including lone working and infection control

Person Specification
Essential
NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards)
Experience in community/domiciliary care
Experience supporting or completing spot checks and competency assessments
Strong understanding of person-centred care and safeguarding
Confident, professional, and approachable communication style
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable
Previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant or Field Care Supervisor
Care Certificate assessor experience
Knowledge of CQC inspection frameworks
