‼️⚠️ For the last couple of weeks we have been experiencing issues with our phone lines. Between the hours of 8am and 8:30am there is likely to be a delay/queue. After this time, the reduced demand means that you should be able to get through to a reception reasonably quickly. However, we have found that calls are sticking intermittently and being made to queue for 5-10 minutes despite the receptionists being available. This has been raised with the phone company and fixes were applied, but the problem has continued. In the interim, if you are needing our help or assistance, please do not exit the queue. We have raised the issue again today and escalated this as urgent. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

‼️The practice will close today from 1pm for staff training. We will re-open as normal on Friday at 8am. This happens on a MONTHLY basis, usually the second Thursday of every month.

If you require medical assistance during this closure please ring 111 or BARDOC on 0161 763 4242. For any medical emergencies please call 999 or attend your local A&E.

In case you missed it, yesterday we published our English surveillance programme for antimicrobial utilisation and resistance (ESPAUR) report ahead of World Awareness Week ( ). 💊

Antibiotic-resistant bloodstream infections are on the rise, surpassing pre-pandemic levels. In 2023, we recorded an estimated 66,730 serious antibiotic-resistant infections, compared to 62,314 in 2019. 📈

✔️ Do these things to help protect their effectiveness:

‑ Never save antibiotics for later or share them with others
