❤️ February is Heart Awareness Month ❤️

This month is dedicated to shining a light on heart conditions and the ways they can affect people of all ages, often without obvious warning signs.

By increasing awareness, we encourage better understanding, earlier recognition, and important conversations around heart health.

We’re proud to support the work of the British Heart Foundation and SADS UK, who provide vital research, education, and support to individuals and families affected by heart conditions.

High heels: stylish for us, challenging for our feet 👠

Heels push your weight forward, which over time can lead to:
▪️ Pain in the balls of your feet or toes
▪️ Bunions, calluses, or corns
▪️ Changes to posture and stability - putting extra pressure on ankles, knees, and lower back

Choosing lower or wider heels, and alternating shoes, can help reduce strain. Regular professional foot care can also make a big difference and keep your feet comfortable! 👣

Why we recommend regular podiatry appointments 👣

Regular podiatry care isn’t just for when something hurts - it helps maintain healthy feet and prevent future problems!

Podiatry can benefit many people, including:
👵 Older adults who can no longer manage their own foot care
🩺 People with diabetes who need regular foot checks
🚶 Those experiencing foot, ankle, or lower limb pain
🏃 Active people wanting to stay comfortable and injury free
👞 People on their feet all day for work
🧒 Children with growing or changing feet
🦶 Anyone with recurring corns, calluses, or nail issues

Regular appointments help keep nails and skin healthy, manage pressure areas, monitor changes, and support how your feet function - making everyday movement easier and more comfortable! 👏

Why do your corns & calluses keep coming back? 👣🤔

Corns and calluses form because of ongoing pressure or friction on the feet. Removing the hard skin can help short term, but it often comes back if the cause stays the same!

Common reasons include:
👟 Poorly fitting footwear
🦶 Foot posture or the way you walk
🔄 Pressure points on the foot or toes

At a podiatry appointment, we don’t just treat the hard skin - we look at what’s causing the pressure to help reduce how often it returns.

If corns or calluses keep coming back, your feet may be trying to tell you something! 👀

✨ As you all know, we love CCS Foot Care Cream - it’s one we actually use ourselves! 👣
It’s enriched with urea to help soften and moisturise dry, rough feet, keeping them feeling smooth and comfy.

For those extra dry nights, or if you are struggling with cracked, dry skin, CCS Cracked Heel Repair is perfect - a richer cream that gives your feet a little extra care. 💛

Why not pick some up on your next visit and give it a try? 😋

How’s your Dry January going? 🥂😄
Cutting back on alcohol can leave you feeling more energised, hydrated and refreshed - your body really does thank you for it!

While you’re going dry, don’t forget about dry feet too! 👣❄️
Winter air and central heating can leave your heels feeling rougher than ever.

A little extra TLC with your favourite foot cream will keep your feet soft, smooth and happy all season long. 💛
