🚨Missed Appointments Matter 🚨
This morning at our practice, we had a significant number of missed appointments:

🩸 12 phlebotomy appointments missed (120 minutes lost)
👩‍⚕️ 5 GP appointments missed (50 minutes lost)
💉 6 practice nurse appointments missed (60 minutes lost)

⏱️ That’s 230 minutes of clinical time that could have been used to care for other patients.

When appointments are not attended and not cancelled in advance, it means:
Longer waiting times for others
Delays in care for patients who need to be seen
Wasted clinical resources

🙏 If you can’t make your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer it to someone else.
Together, we can help make sure appointments are available for everyone who needs them 💙

3 Easy Ways to Cancel Your Appointment
Reducing missed appointments helps us offer care to more patients. Cancelling is quick and simple:

💬 Reply “CANCEL” to your appointment text reminder
- Your appointment is removed instantly.
📱Use the NHS App
- View and cancel appointments in just a few taps.
📞 Call the surgery on 01706 346767
- As long as the number you’re calling from is linked to your medical records:
• Press Option 1
• Enter your date of birth as 6 digits (e.g. 281167 for 28th November 1967)
• Once your appointment is found, press 1 to confirm cancellation
- You can also use this service to opt to receive appointment details via text or via our automated phone line.

Every cancelled appointment helps us reduce waiting times and offer the slot to someone who needs it.
Thank you for supporting our practice.

Could you spot a heart attack? 🚨Know the warning signs and how to respond.

Around 100,000 people in the UK are admitted into hospital due to a heart attack, also known as a myocardial infarction, every year. It occurs when the blood supply to your heart suddenly stops due to a blockage in the blood vessels that supply it.

A heart attack is a medical emergency. If you notice someone having a heart attack, you should call 999 immediately.

What causes a heart attack?
Your heart pumps blood throughout your body but like any other tissue, it also needs its own blood supply. Oxygen-rich blood is delivered to your heart by blood vessels called coronary arteries. A heart attack occurs when one of these coronary arteries is suddenly blocked.

✨Basic Life Support Training including CPR✨

On Thursday, we used our Learning Time Initiative to complete our Basic Life Support Training including CPR on adults, children and babies. All clinical and non-clinical staff attended the refresher session in house to ensure we are up to date with the latest training and discussed any changes that had happened since our last session.
