A Diploma in Deep Tissue Massage, Swedish Body, Indian Head, Hot & Cold Stones, Advanced Deep tissue massage techniques and Sports massage. Deep tissue massage can be an effective treatment because it facilitates the movement of toxins from the muscles and helps stretch tight or twisted muscle mass, deep-tissue massage can help promote healing. Because massage also helps relax muscles, it can reduce the pain caused by injuries, too. Deep-tissue massage is frequently used to rehabilitate sports injuries. It is very good choice for runners as it targets tight spots and is beneficial for those after hard bouts of training or a few days after a race. Swedish Body Massage often utilizes long strokes it is also beneficial to athletes before a big competition or as a recovery tool as the lighter strokes help relieve stress and muscle tension without damaging muscles. It is also very beneficial for those wanting a pamper session, to relieve stress and relax. Receiving a hot and cold stone massage can be equally beneficial
In addition, massaging and alternating the hot and cool stones helps every cell in the body to receive more oxygen and nutrients and moves lymph thereby encouraging a more effective removal of toxins. The opening and closing of the blood vessels causes a pumping action within the circulatory system which brings in more blood to the lungs and heart. It’s pretty much a vascular gymnastics for the body. It allows the body to achieve the same level of relaxation and rejuvenation as going to a sauna and jumping in the plunge pool but with the benefit of a massage included. It is a very relaxing treatment. Indian Head massage is very beneficial for those with stress, anxiety, tension headaches, alopcia and sinus problems. It is also very good for tight neck and shoulder muscles. All massage is good for Improved circulation, improved lymphatic drainage, reduced muscle tension and stress.

Seasonal wellness 🌿 immunity tends to dip during the colder, darker months. Here’s how plain water, ginger water, turmeric water, and lemon water each support your immune system through autumn and winter:

💧 1. Plain Water – The Foundation of Immunity

🙌Staying hydrated is the first, simplest step in immune health.
🙌Supports lymphatic flow: Your lymph system (part of your immune defense) relies on proper hydration to move immune cells efficiently.
🙌Keeps mucous membranes moist: Hydrated nasal and throat tissues trap and flush out viruses and bacteria more effectively.
🙌Improves energy & detoxification: Water helps the liver and kidneys remove waste, keeping your body balanced and less prone to fatigue or sluggish immunity.

➡️ Tip: Cooler air and indoor heating dehydrate you more than you think sip water steadily through the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty.

🌿 2. Ginger Water – Warming & Anti-Inflammatory

🙌Ginger has powerful anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties.
🙌Boosts circulation: Helps warm the body and supports nutrient delivery to tissues.
🙌Soothes digestion: A healthy gut = a stronger immune system (since about 70% of immune cells live in the gut).
🙌Reduces inflammation: Active compounds like gingerol help calm low-grade inflammation that can weaken immune defenses.

➡️ How to use: Simmer fresh ginger slices in hot water for 5–10 minutes. Add a little honey for soothing throat support.

✨ 3. Turmeric Water – Golden Immune Support

🙌Turmeric’s key compound, curcumin, is a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.
🙌Supports immune regulation: Curcumin helps balance immune activity boosting defense without overstimulation.
🙌Fights oxidative stress: Protects cells from damage caused by environmental stressors (cold, pollution, less sunlight).
🙌Supports joint health: Great for colder months when stiffness tends to increase.

➡️ How to use: Mix ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder (or a few slices of fresh root) in warm water with a pinch of black pepper (improves absorption).

🍋 4. Lemon Water Vitamin C & Alkalizing Effect

Lemon water is rich in vitamin C, an essential nutrient for immune defense.
🙌Stimulates white blood cell production: Your body’s front line against viruses and bacteria.
🙌Aids liver detoxification: Helps flush toxins and supports metabolic balance.
🙌Balances pH and refreshes digestion: Aids nutrient absorption, which indirectly supports immunity.

➡️ How to use: Squeeze half a lemon into warm (not boiling) water first thing in the morning to gently wake up your system.

Why not give some a go ….. 🙌

💪 Why Stretch the Latissimus Dorsi

The lats are the large, fan-shaped muscles that run from your lower back up to your upper arms. They’re involved in many everyday movements pulling, reaching, lifting and they easily become tight from posture or overuse in the gym.

🔍 1. Improve Posture
Tight lats pull the shoulders downward and inward, contributing to rounded shoulders or a hunched upper back (common if you sit a lot).
➡️ Stretching them helps open the chest, allowing better posture and easier breathing.

🫁 2. Increase Shoulder Mobility
The lats limit overhead arm movement if they’re tight.
➡️ Stretching allows for smoother, pain-free lifting, reaching, or overhead exercises like yoga poses, swimming, or weight training.

⚖️ 3. Reduce Back and Neck Tension

Because the lats connect your spine, ribs, and shoulders, tightness can cause upper back pain or stiffness.
➡️ Gentle stretching releases this tension and supports better spinal alignment.

🏋️ 4. Enhance Exercise Performance

Flexible lats improve range of motion for pulling exercises (rows, pull-ups) and overhead movements (presses, snatches).
➡️ Better range = better muscle activation + reduced injury risk.

🌙 5. Promote Relaxation and Recovery

Stretching the lats especially with slow breathing activates the parasympathetic nervous system, helping calm the body and aid recovery after workouts or stress.

Having a Massage can significantly support mood and hormonal balance, and these effects can be even more valuable during this time of year (late autumn into winter). Here’s why:

🌤️ 1. Boosts “Feel-Good” Hormones

🙌Massage increases the release of serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin the body’s natural mood enhancers.
🙌Serotonin helps regulate mood and sleep (both of which can dip with shorter daylight hours).
🙌Dopamine supports motivation and pleasure.
🙌Oxytocin, sometimes called the “cuddle hormone,” promotes connection, relaxation, and calm.

Together, these help counteract seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and winter blues.

🌙 2. Reduces Stress Hormones

Massage has been shown to lower cortisol levels — the primary stress hormone.
🙌When cortisol is chronically high (as it often is during busy or stressful seasons), it can suppress immune function, disrupt sleep, and contribute to low mood.
🙌Lowering cortisol helps your nervous system move from “fight or flight” (sympathetic) into “rest and digest” (parasympathetic) mode.

🩸 3. Improves Circulation and Energy

Cooler weather and less sunlight can slow circulation and make people feel sluggish. Massage helps:
🙌Increase blood flow and lymphatic movement, which supports immune function.
🙌Deliver more oxygen and nutrients to muscles and tissues giving an overall sense of warmth, vitality, and alertness.

💤 4. Supports Better Sleep

🙌The combination of muscle relaxation and serotonin boost (which later converts to melatonin) can help improve sleep quality something that often gets disrupted during darker months.
Good sleep, in turn, stabilizes mood and hormones.

🙌Pushing a sled is a powerful full-body exercise because it:
Builds strength – targets legs, glutes, core, and upper body.
🙌Improves power and speed – mimics sprinting mechanics for athletes.
🙌Boosts cardiovascular fitness elevates heart rate while engaging multiple muscles.
• Enhances endurance – trains muscles to sustain effort under load.
• Low impact – tough on muscles but gentle on joints.

In short: sled pushing develops strength, power, and conditioning all in one efficient, joint-friendly workout.

Deep tissue massage helps relieve back aches and pains because it:
🙌Targets deeper muscle layers — it reaches the underlying muscles and connective tissues where chronic tension often builds up.
🙌Breaks down knots and adhesions — reduces stiffness and restores normal movement.
🙌Improves blood flow — boosts oxygen and nutrient delivery to sore areas, speeding up healing.
🙌Releases tension and stress — calms the nervous system and helps muscles relax.
🙌Improves posture and mobility — easing tightness can realign muscles and reduce strain on the back.

🙌 it works by loosening tight muscles, improving circulation, and helping the body heal naturally.
🙌 If you’re feeling a few twinges from work related stress , everyday stress, colder months , training why not get booked in .

Friday feedback- it’s great to hear clients telling me there aches & pains have gone after regular treatments !!

🙌 it usually means your body is responding well to the massage. There are a few physiological and biomechanical reasons why your back and hips might not be aching anymore after regular sports massage:

🧠 1. Reduced Muscle Tension

Sports massage helps release chronic muscle tightness and trigger points. Over time, this:
🙌Improves blood flow to muscles
🙌Flushes out metabolic waste (like lactic acid)
🙌Allows muscles to relax and return to their optimal resting length
Result: Less stiffness and soreness in your back and hips.

🩸 2. Improved Circulation & Recovery

Regular massage increases blood and lymphatic flow, bringing more oxygen and nutrients to tissues. This speeds up healing of small muscle strains and reduces inflammation both common causes of pain after physical activity.

⚙️ 3. Better Joint Mobility

Massage around the hips and lower back can release tension in surrounding muscles (like the glutes, hip flexors, and lower back extensors), allowing the joints to move more freely. Improved range of motion means less strain on muscles during daily movement or exercise.

🧍‍♂️ 4. Postural Rebalancing

Many back and hip aches come from postural imbalances (e.g., sitting long hours, uneven muscle use). Regular treatments help correct these by loosening overactive muscles and reactivating underused ones. Over time, your posture becomes more aligned, which prevents recurring pain.

🧘 5. Nervous System Adaptation

Massage also has a calming effect on the nervous system, lowering muscle tone and reducing pain sensitivity. With consistent sessions, your body becomes less reactive to stress or tension build-up.

💪 6. Complementary Effects

If you’ve been stretching, strengthening, or improving your movement patterns (even subconsciously), the massage might be reinforcing those positive changes.

In short:
Your massages have likely improved tissue health, mobility, and muscle balance — meaning your body no longer triggers pain signals in those areas.
