I am extremely busy tomorrow and am seeing somebody every 20-25 minutes from start to finish. 20 minutes is more than enough time for wax removal, but only if people are on time for their appointments. Please ensure you are on time so it doesn’t impact on the next persons appointment 🙂

Hi everyone.
Lately I have seen quite a few people who have had there ears damaged by previous wax removal, or they have not had a serious auricular condition recognised which if left untreated could have caused irreversible hearing loss by somebody who is not trained properly to recognise abnormalities within the ear.

The wax removal industry isn’t regulated so anybody (people with no medical knowledge or background) can do a day course in wax removal and carry out this treatment, but I would strongly advise you to check the credentials of somebody who you are trusting with your ears. The ear drum is only 0.1mm thick so there is a lot of scope for things to to wrong. Personally I would only trust a registered nurse or an audiologist with something as delicate as my hearing. I am a nurse and we are trained in otoscopy and if I find any abnormality I will write a letter to your gp to treat or to refer you on the relevant department using my knowledge and experience. I have developed a trusting relationship with many gp surgeries so they will usually act swiftly on the referral when received from myself or other established nurses/audiologists who carry out this procedure in the local area.

This isn’t an advertisement to come and book with me but is just a warning to please check the credentials of people you are trusting with something as important as your hearing 🙂

Hi everyone. As a lot of you know I usually work Monday - Wednesday due to childcare but on Saturday the 8th July I will be doing a clinic at my usual place at westmoor farm in Rainham as I am away during the week so if anyone can’t usually get down due to work commitments ect I will be there on that Saturday. Hi everyone! I hope everyone’s had a good weekend. I am only in clinic on the morning of Wednesday rather than the whole day as I have to take baby Harry to an appointment in the afternoon. I will be there all day Tuesday.
