🌟 Important COVID-19 Vaccination Update 🌟

We had quite a few patients visit our vaccination clinic on Saturday after receiving national messages saying they are eligible for the autumn COVID-19 vaccine. We know this has caused some confusion and frustration when, after a quick check, some were told they’re not eligible. πŸ˜•

Here’s the scoop:

🩺 Every year, the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) reviews who should get vaccinated to protect against serious illness. This year, their advice has changed because COVID-19 is now usually a milder infection for most people.

πŸ‘΅πŸ§“ This autumn/winter, the COVID-19 vaccine is only being offered to those at highest risk β€” mainly older adults and people with weakened immune systems due to certain health conditions or treatments. This is different from previous years.

πŸ’‰ You might be eligible for a flu vaccine but not for the COVID-19 vaccine this year, even if you’ve had it before.

When you come to our clinic, our team will check your eligibility and let you know if you can have the vaccine. βœ…

πŸ™ We kindly ask all patients to please treat our staff at the vaccination clinics with respect and kindness. We understand it can be disappointing if you were expecting to be vaccinated for COVID-19, but our staff must follow the official guidance we’ve been given. Your patience and understanding really help us all!

🚨 Important Update 🚨

Due to a few of our team members feeling under the weather πŸ€’, we’re running with a smaller team at the moment. This means if the triaging doctor thinks it’s best, you might be directed to Pharmacy First πŸ’Š or the Urgent Treatment Centre πŸ₯ for your care.

Thanks so much for your understanding and patience πŸ™ – we’re doing our best to look after you all! πŸ’™

🌟 We Want Your Feedback! 🌟

This past Monday, we went live with our new triage system, Anima, and what a week it’s been! We’re thrilled that many patients have been able to submit their own requests through the system, making things quicker and easier. For those who needed extra help, our reception team was happy to assist and submit requests on their behalf.

Please remember: This system is designed to ensure that patients who truly need an appointment get one β€” it’s not a first-come, first-served process. This helps us prioritise care based on urgency and need.

Now, we’d love to hear from you! How has your experience been using Anima? Any feedback will help us improve.

Drop your thoughts in the comments β€” we’re listening! πŸ‘‚πŸ’¬

πŸ“£ You might notice a new test result in your NHS app about "Segmentation" on Monday – here’s what it means!

Segmentation is simply a way we group patients based on their health and wellbeing needs. It helps us provide better, more personalised care – making sure you get the right support, from the right clinician, at the right time. πŸ’™

βœ… No action is needed from you – it's just part of how we’re working to improve your care.

πŸŽ‰ Today marks the official go live of our new triaging system, Anima! πŸŽ‰

We’re excited to share that the launch has been a success today.

A big thank you to all our patients for your continued support and patience as our reception team gets up to speed with the new system. Your understanding means a lot to us!

πŸš€ "Anima" Goes Live on Monday! πŸš€

Next week, Lucy and Jan will be on hand in the waiting room to guide you step-by-step on how to submit an Anima request β€” making the process smooth and simple! (and saving you time by standing in our queue)

πŸ“± Don’t worry if you don’t have a smartphone or internet access!
Our phone lines will remain open, and our friendly reception team will still be available to help submit Anima requests on your behalf.

I am really hopeful that with this change, we’ll be able to ensure that those who need an appointment are seen by the most appropriate clinician β€” helping us provide the best care possible for you.

I have noticed some concerns expressed by patients regarding the availability of face-to-face appointments. Please be assured that this is not the case. Should a patient require an in-person consultation, the triaging doctor will ensure they are referred to the appropriate clinician for a face-to-face appointment.

πŸ™ Please remember, if you are able to submit your request yourself, please do so via our practice website. This will help keep our phone lines and reception desk free for those who don’t have internet access or a smartphone.

I appreciate that change can be nerve-wracking, but please know the team have worked super hard to make sure this transition goes smoothly. I kindly ask that you treat our staff with patience and kindness as they support you through this new process.
