“What’s the difference between an Osteopath and a Chiropractor?”
I get asked this all the time 😊
Both professions are trained to help with muscle, joint and spine pain — but the approach can be different.
🦴 Osteopath (like me) focuses on:
✅ the whole body (not just the spine)
✅ muscles, joints, posture, movement patterns
✅ how different areas affect each other (e.g. hips ↔ lower back ↔ neck)
✅ hands-on treatment + advice, rehab exercises and lifestyle guidance
✅ restoring balance and improving overall function
Osteopathy often includes:
soft tissue work, joint mobilisation, stretching, functional movement assessment, and tailored rehab.
🌀 Chiropractor often focuses on:
✅ the spine and nervous system
✅ spinal alignment and adjustments
✅ improving spinal movement and function
Chiropractic commonly includes:
spinal manipulation/adjustments, joint work, posture advice and rehab.
⭐ Which one is best?
Honestly — it depends on the person and the problem.
But if you’re looking for a full-body approach, including muscular tension, posture, movement and a personalised plan — osteopathy is often a great choice.
If you’re unsure what’s best for you, I’m happy to guide you.
