🌿 Struggling with latching? It’s not always a tongue tie…
Many parents are told that feeding difficulties must be due to a tongue tie — but that’s not always the full picture.
👶 Latching problems can also be linked to: • Tension in the neck and jaw
• Birth strain (even after a “normal” delivery)
• Restricted movement of the head
• High or narrow palate affecting suction
• Digestive discomfort or reflux
👐 Why the palate matters: The shape and mobility of your baby’s palate (roof of the mouth) play a key role in feeding.
If it’s high, narrow, or restricted, it can: • Make it harder to latch effectively
• Reduce suction
• Lead to clicking sounds, air intake, or frustration during feeds
✨ How osteopathy can help: Using very gentle, baby-safe techniques, I assess the whole body — including the head, jaw, and palate — to release tension and improve function.
This can: ✔ Support better latch and feeding
✔ Reduce discomfort and fussiness
✔ Improve overall comfort and development
💚 Every baby is different — that’s why treatment is always tailored.

🌿 Why should babies be checked after birth?
Birth is a huge physical event for a baby’s body — even in smooth deliveries. Gentle osteopathic assessment can help ensure your baby is starting life as comfortably and as balanced as possible.
✨ Common reasons parents bring their babies: • Difficulty feeding or latching
• Head turning preference / flat head (plagiocephaly)
• Excessive crying, unsettled behaviour
• Reflux, colic, digestion issues
• Sleep disturbances
👐 How osteopathy can help: Using very gentle, safe techniques, I assess your baby’s body for any tension or restrictions that may have developed during pregnancy or birth — including C-section or assisted delivery.
Early treatment can: ✔ Support feeding and digestion
✔ Improve comfort and sleep
✔ Help with symmetry and development
✔ Give parents reassurance and guidance
💚 Every treatment is calm, tailored, and baby-friendly.

The human head weighs around 4–5 kg. Hold it nicely balanced above the shoulders and the neck barely notices. Tip it forward toward a phone or laptop, and the load on the neck muscles increases dramatically. The body isn’t badly designed—just frequently misused.
Poor posture often leads to neck tension and posture-related headaches. When the head sits forward for long periods, the small joints of the neck stiffen, muscles overwork, and nerves can become irritated. The result is a dull headache that often starts at the base of the skull and spreads to the temples or behind the eyes.
Osteopathic treatment focuses on restoring normal movement in the neck and upper back. Hands-on techniques help release tight muscles, improve joint mobility, and reduce tension that can trigger headaches. When needed, treatment can also include postural advice, tailored exercises, and kinesio taping to support the neck and prevent the problem returning.
If your headaches often come with neck stiffness or long hours at a desk, your posture might be part of the story.

Pain has a funny way of ignoring the calendar. Muscles tighten, joints complain, and suddenly Sunday doesn’t feel like a day of rest at all.
That’s exactly why the clinic doors are open.
I’m open this Sunday at Hoo Osteopathic Clinic for anyone struggling with back pain, neck stiffness, headaches or general body tension. Sometimes one well-targeted treatment can reset things and make the whole week ahead feel different.
If your body is asking for help, don’t wait until Monday.

Tiny humans are extraordinary pieces of biology. A newborn has around 300 bones, soft connective tissues, and a nervous system still learning how to interpret the world. Birth itself is quite a mechanical event—pressure, twisting, squeezing through a very narrow passage. Most babies adapt beautifully, but sometimes their little bodies hold onto tension.
That’s where gentle osteopathic treatment for babies can help.
Paediatric osteopathy uses very soft, precise techniques to support the baby’s natural ability to settle and develop comfortably. Nothing forceful—think of it more like guiding the body rather than pushing it.
Parents often bring their babies for support with:
• unsettled babies and excessive crying
• feeding or latching difficulties
• reflux or digestive discomfort
• tension after birth
• flat spots on the head (positional plagiocephaly)
• difficulty turning the head to one side
During the appointment I carefully assess your baby’s movement, posture and comfort, and use gentle hands-on techniques to help release tension and improve mobility.
Every baby is different, so treatment is always tailored and calm, with plenty of time for feeding, cuddles and breaks if needed.
Healthy movement from the very beginning can make a big difference as babies grow, roll, crawl and explore their world.

Weekends were invented for rest… but the body sometimes has other plans. A stiff neck after a long week, a back that protests after gardening, or shoulders that feel like they’ve been carrying the entire office. Biology is wonderfully stubborn that way.
Here’s the useful part: treatment doesn’t have to wait until Monday.
I’m open this weekend at Hoo Osteopathic Clinic, and there are still a few appointments available. If your back, neck or joints are asking for attention, this is a good moment to sort it before the new week starts.
I offer professional, tailored osteopathic treatment at very competitive prices, focused on finding the cause of the problem — not just the painful spot. Treatment may include hands-on osteopathic techniques, joint mobilisation, spinal traction, exercise advice and kinesiotaping if needed.
Give your body the same care you give your schedule.

People often search for an osteopath when they’re already in pain. What really tells the story of a clinic, though, is what patients say after they’ve been treated.
I’m incredibly grateful for the amazing feedback my patients leave for Hoo Osteopathic Clinic. Here are a few words that truly mean a lot:
⭐ “Emilia is incredibly knowledgeable and professional. My back pain improved after just a few sessions.”
⭐ “Very thorough assessment and treatment. Emilia explains everything clearly and gives helpful exercises.”
⭐ “Friendly, professional and effective treatment. Highly recommend!”

🌿 Spring is waking up… and so is my tortoise! 🐢✨
After a long winter nap, my little one is officially back — and honestly, it feels like the start of a new season in every way 🌸
Just like nature, our bodies can feel a bit stiff, sluggish or “out of sync” after the colder months. Less movement, more tension, and those little aches creeping back in…
Spring is the perfect time to reset your body 🌱
✔️ Improve mobility
✔️ Release built-up tension
✔️ Get back to moving freely and pain-free
Don’t wait until pain stops you — get ahead of it.

It’s only Tuesday… but your lower back might already be feeling the week.
Many back pain problems involve the intervertebral discs — the cushions between the bones of your spine. When they become irritated, muscles tighten, joints stiffen, and pain can sometimes travel into the leg.
Osteopathic treatment helps restore movement in the spine, reduce pressure on the discs, and relax tight muscles. If needed, I can also provide tailored exercises and kinesio taping to give your back extra support during recovery.
Don’t ignore your back — small problems often become big ones.

16/03/2026

Lower back pain often involves the intervertebral discs — the cushions between the bones of your spine that absorb pressure and allow movement.
When a disc becomes irritated or overloaded, surrounding muscles tighten, joints stiffen, and nerves can become sensitive. That’s when you may feel persistent lower back pain or pain travelling into the leg.
Osteopathy focuses on restoring healthy movement in the spine.
Using hands-on techniques such as spinal mobilisation, gentle decompression, and soft tissue work, treatment helps reduce pressure on the discs and improve how your body moves.
If needed, I can also tailor a specific exercise routine to strengthen and support your back, and apply kinesio taping for additional support during recovery.
If your lower back has been bothering you, it may be time to get it checked.
