Tiny humans are extraordinary pieces of biology. A newborn has around 300 bones, soft connective tissues, and a nervous system still learning how to interpret the world. Birth itself is quite a mechanical event—pressure, twisting, squeezing through a very narrow passage. Most babies adapt beautifully, but sometimes their little bodies hold onto tension.
That’s where gentle osteopathic treatment for babies can help.
Paediatric osteopathy uses very soft, precise techniques to support the baby’s natural ability to settle and develop comfortably. Nothing forceful—think of it more like guiding the body rather than pushing it.
Parents often bring their babies for support with:
• unsettled babies and excessive crying
• feeding or latching difficulties
• reflux or digestive discomfort
• tension after birth
• flat spots on the head (positional plagiocephaly)
• difficulty turning the head to one side
During the appointment I carefully assess your baby’s movement, posture and comfort, and use gentle hands-on techniques to help release tension and improve mobility.
Every baby is different, so treatment is always tailored and calm, with plenty of time for feeding, cuddles and breaks if needed.
Healthy movement from the very beginning can make a big difference as babies grow, roll, crawl and explore their world.
