Accessing tirzepatide (Mounjaro) for weight loss

Please see the below link from Kent & Medway Integrated Care Board detailing the current situation with regard to the prescribing of Mounjaro specifically for weight loss

Your general practice or hospital services will not be able to prescribe this medication to you for obesity until arrangements are in place.

Unfortunately due to a water leak at Eccles surgery, we do not have any running water or toilet facilities. We are working with our insurers to get this fixed as quickly as possible but until water supply is restored, we will not be able to offer any appointments there. We will do our best to rearrange any appointments already booked for as soon as possible and apologise for the inconvenience this will cause our patients.

We are running a Spring COVID booster clinic for the over 75's which will be on Friday 9th May at the Old School Hall, Bell Lane, Burham. We have filled all pre-booked slots but we will be providing an extra vaccinator to handle any walk-ins so if you haven't already booked your slot and want to have the jab, please come down between 10.00-11.30 on the day to the hall NOT the surgery. We are aware that at Eccles surgery, there is an issue with birds doing their droppings onto the handrails. I have written twice now to the landlord of the Red Bull pub whose trees overhang our property requesting that he gets these cut back as it's not nice for our elderly and immobile patients. As yet, I have had no reply. We apologise for this and will look to keep the handrails cleaned whilst we await to hear back from the pub landlord.

New Appointment & Enquiry System: Anima

We are pleased to announce the introduction of a new Triage Service ‘Anima’, which will replace our current appointment system. Anima has been designed to enable us to manage the growing demand more efficiently. Our “live” date will be Monday 25th November 2024.
From this date, all medical queries will need to go through this tool. The exception will be routine repeat prescription requests, baby checks and long term condition review appointments which will be managed the same as at present. Appointments for nursing and healthcare assistant services such as blood tests, smears, dressings, injections and ECG’s will still need to be made over the phone initially but will be reviewed in due course.
In preparation for the transition, we are requesting patients to pre-register online to create an Anima account now which will then allow you to use the service straight away from "live" date. Please either visit our website or use the QR code below which will take you straight to the appropriate page on our website including link to register.

Due to staff sickness and holidays, we are currently running a day behind our normal 4 day turnaround in dispensary. We sincerely apologise for this and are taking steps to bring in additional staff to help with the workload. Following the IT outage that affected our practice as well as a number of other institutions globally, our systems only came back online late Sunday evening. This now means we have a backlog of work which we were unable to action Friday including re-booking appointments, reviewing test results but also in our case, the issuing and dispensing of your medication.
