We recently came across a very upsetting case online.

Two fully equipped police officers… taser, stab vest, backup - and still this level of force was used on a vulnerable citizen. While we appreciate and respect the work the majority of the police do, this independent incident can’t go without accountability.

Now imagine what care staff deal with every day without the tasers and stab vests. Going about every day with the same compassion and duty to protect people, despite how unpredictable the average working day is.

This is about more than police conduct (though yes, it’s disturbing). It’s reminded us of the immense pressure care workers face daily, often in far more challenging circumstances - and with far less support. It proves the force used as undue, especially in a position of authority.

To all the carers out there: we see you, and we thank you.
