We are currently in the process of phasing out any UV Nail products that will be banned in the future, so I was interested in checking NSI POLYDIP, as we use so much of it. This was the information I found below. Please do not worry about any of it, we have not had a problem using standard nail products (still currently legal) in 37 years, plus these issues have arisen through poor practises within non-standard nail bars, the Government has decided that this path is the way they wish to tackle it, as they have zero qualifications too! 🙄 It would have been better to bring in licensing and UK standards by way of UK qualifications, same old story, punish us who worry about Client’s Nails but, ignore the ones who don’t really care 🫤 This is literally just the tip of the iceberg for us now.

Some Clients I am now discovering, are paying high monthly subscriptions for Collagen supplements. In my skin Science Course, it was not mentioned, so I always go back to thinking this maybe just a fad, widely spread on social media, making hundreds of millions for manufacturers (where the marketing originates). What I always believed from many years of working with problem skin/ageing, is nutrition and lifestyle probably make a bigger difference, with the added bonus of no high costs and all round better health, rather than very high cost (with no scientifically proven results), will these companies disappear or just jump onto the next fad?

When doing lesion removal (most days), what I am seeing is people rushing around, such a lot going on, stressed out, tired and just about getting to us on time. What happens next surprises most Clients!
They expect:
Pain - minimal to zero discomfort
They think Treatment begins immediately - it takes 45 minutes to start
They expect to leave with wounds requiring attention to heal - Not really
What they do not expect:
Time to unwind
Somebody brings them a warm drink or bottled water
A quiet room to lie down for a bit
A blanket or heater if they arrive cold
Time to chat to an outsider sat ready to listen if they feel like it
The Salon grinding to a halt outside the room - it is such a nice space just for them
Message to take away………take time out and do something for yourself, even booking a Facial is very restorative, with spa music and a candle burning 🙂

More Nail Spring shades from Glossify……..still not seeing anything new or different though??? So basically the biggest Nail companies in the World are coming up short, whilst the lower end appear to be working much harder at creating new Gel colours??? We are also not seeing the big guns releasing TPO and Hema free ranges yet, the smaller ones are now. Odd

I am a true advocate of uv protection but, seriously? I go from my car, through the rain, to my indoor job, then go grocery shopping in the dark afterwards at the moment! I really think those who wish to protect their complexion can work it out for themselves just fine
