It was great to welcome Bayo Alaba MP & Cllr Steptoe Rochford District Council to the surgery last week
We discussed really important issues relating to how we can continue provide a high-quality service to a growing community population.

On Friday, I visited the The Puzey Family Practice. It was fantastic to meet the dedicated team who work tirelessly to provide high-quality care for our community.

We discussed local healthcare priorities, patient access, and how we can better support frontline staff delivering essential services.

Huge thanks to everyone at Puzey Family Practice for the warm welcome and for everything you do for residents in Rochford 👏🏿

The NHS urgently needs more people with specific blood types to come forward as hospitals work to reduce the backlog of planned surgery as well as preparing for the usual busy winter period.

With temperatures forecasted to drop across the UK over the next few days, it’s important to make sure that we’re looking out for our loved ones living with dementia.

Winter can be a particularly difficult time for somebody living with dementia. The bad weather and colder temperatures can bring specific challenges, and can sometimes make symptoms temporarily worse.

They may not always be able to communicate that they are cold – or they might not even recognise it themselves.

Perception issues can also make it difficult for someone with dementia to see icy patches on a pavement or understand that a surface may be extra slippery.

So make sure to check in regularly on loved ones, friends and neighbours living with dementia, and follow our useful tips to help support them through the winter.

From October to March we can’t make enough vitamin D from sunlight, so to keep bones and muscles healthy, it’s best to take a daily 10 microgram supplement of vitamin D. You can get vitamin D from most pharmacies and retailers.
