Gazel provides a day service for adults with learning disabilities based at St. Lukes Place, Rochford.

Our aim is to promote and support independence, choice and social inclusion through a wide range of engaging learning and development activities within a supportive, safe and stimulating environment. Additionally, we believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to achieve success through education. Gazel is an accredited education provider and our programmes are individually tailored and are taught in a creative and imaginative way. Through our distinctive approach we encourage and develop our Clients to be the very best they can be – giving them the confidence to be themselves and drawing out their incredible abilities.

Our groups have had a fantastic time participating in World Book Week 📚 They’ve been so busy and taken part in some amazing sessions and activities that have included to name but a few…

Listening to author Michael Rosen telling funny stories about food and how it is used in books around the world 🍰🌎
Doing a draw a long with Liz Pichon ✍🏻
Learning about the wildest jobs in the world with conservationist Sarah Roberts 🐊🦈🤿
Joining in the ‘Footy and Booky’ quiz hosted by the Premier League ⚽️🏆
Sharing their favourite types of books with each other and having a read during break times ☕️📖

Today our group explored the Polar Bears International website, finding out lots of facts about Polar Bears and why they created International Polar Bear Day 🐻‍❄️

They watched a live cam of the bears in Canada 🇨🇦 completed a team quiz 🤔 and added to their Happy By Nature project display 🐾

This morning, our group enjoyed learning about the Paralympic Winter Games, which take place from 6th to 15th March in Italy. ❄️🏒🥌

We have also started our winter sports pictures for the Centre Paralympics display. Wishing Team GB lots of luck and success!! 🤞🇬🇧 🥇

Our group enjoyed finding out about different pets for National Love Your Pet Day🐱❤️🐶

They looked at the role of the Dogs Trust 🦮 watched clips about exotic and unusual pets around the world 🌍🐍🦛🐒 and used iPads to create their own pet pictures📱👈 🖍️

Horsing around today 🤪 with a team Chinese New Year quiz this morning🧧🍜 followed by an afternoon at the races cheering on our horses 🐎 📣

It was nice to resume our WWF UK Happy By Nature project day 🐻‍❄️ Our Thursday group worked on their nature display 🐧🐋 joined a live Polar regions session with explorer Steve Backshall and collected another stamp in their nature passports 🐾

We found out it was National Umbrella Day today☂️ No surprise really with all the rain we’ve had lately! 🤪🌧️

Our group enjoyed looking at different styles of umbrella 🌂 spotting them in famous movies and music videos 👀 completing an internet scavenger hunt about Fulton Umbrellas ⛱️ and creating their own wet weather photos in different locations ☔️📸

Our Friday group getting into the Winter Olympic Spirit today 🔥 with an Italian themed lunch to celebrate the opening of the Milano Cortina 2026 games 🍝🇮🇹🍦

They also had lots of fun playing some winter sport video games ⛷️🏂🏒⛸️

Our groups have been finding out about the 2026 Winter Olympic Games ⛷️🌨️

They completed their virtual journey from Milan to Cortina 🏔️ whilst finding out about the different events 🏂 and creating a brilliant display, ready for our Italian themed lunch on Friday 🇮🇹🍝

For International Puzzle Day 🧩 our group took part in the launch day of The Royal Mint Great British Treasure Hunt 🧐 They solved the first three puzzles today, working brilliantly in their teams 👏

The puzzles included arranging coins to make a shield🛡️looking for hidden clues in Newton’s 2017 50p coin 👀 and arranging interactive star constellations ⭐️🌌

Our Thursday group are now looking forward to continuing their treasure hunt as more puzzles are released over the next few months 🪙

Lots of brick building challenges for International Lego Day 🧱🟨 Our group also enjoyed creating their own minifigure pictures which looked brilliant 🧙🦋🦖 🤣

Our Friday group logged their physical activity they’ve done this week and helped us achieve our Silver Bobsleigh Badge for recording 10 activities ⛷️ We also reached our next checkpoint on our journey around Italy 🇮🇹 🤩
