GazelRochford Gazel provides a day service for adults with learning disabilities based at St. Lukes Place, Rochford.

Our aim is to promote and support independence, choice and social inclusion through a wide range of engaging learning and development activities within a supportive, safe and stimulating environment. Additionally, we believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to achieve success through education. Gazel is an accredited education provider and our programmes are individually tailored and are taught in a creative and imaginative way. Through our distinctive approach we encourage and develop our Clients to be the very best they can be – giving them the confidence to be themselves and drawing out their incredible abilities.

All of our groups have enjoyed taking part in Air Ambulances UK air ambulance week 🚁 🚑

Throughout the week they have completed different challenges working towards their Essex & Herts Air Ambulance challenge badge including mindfulness colouring 🖍️ word searches 🔍 and taking part in a fundraising event today which included a red and yellow quiz 🔴🟡 and a jacket potato lunch 🥔😋

It’s been great for everyone to find out what the charity does and how they provide such an important free life-saving service 🚁🗻

We looked at the Icelandic tradition of ‘puffling season’ where we found out about the efforts of the Westman Island community who help save lost baby puffins in their towns 🇮🇸🐧

We heard how they gather, care and return them to the ocean for their first flight out to sea 🌊

Our group also worked together, using watercolours and charcoal to create puffin artwork for our display board 🖌️✨

After some great teamwork to set up outside, it decided to rain on us and so we had to retreat indoors 🙈☔️

Today we’re shining a light on International Lighthouse Day. A celebration of our beautiful lighthouses, which have comforted seafarers for centuries, guiding them and keeping them safe.
🛥🛳⛴🚢⚓️

We enjoyed learning about the history of lighthouses and discovering the various parts that make up these guardians of our coastlines. This afternoon, we had a brilliant time making our own lighthouses and had plenty of laughs along the way!! 😂
