Today is national grief awareness day. Grief affects us all in many different ways. No one had the relationship we had with that person, as there is only one of us and one of them, and that relationship was unique. Others may seem to be getting on with it, and we may find ourself comparing, suppressing the pain, and the emotions.
To cope with the pain, emotions and sensations, we may self-soothe, self-harm, self-medicate, that too may come in many different shapes and forms. It may become coupled with other events happening in our lives and sometimes, it may be too much to feel. When you’re ready there is a space to work through this. You don’t have to just get on with it. They are not you. What do you need?
