Today marked a truly special moment for us all as we celebrated the opening of the beautiful water feature, so generously donated by Peggy’s family, our former Resident Ambassador at Willows Care Home.

It was heartwarming to see her family joing and sharing this meaningful moment with us.

Our residents came outside to say a touching speech which was read by Hazel and which moved everyone present, Iris who was Peggy’s best friend proudly cut the ribbon to officially open the feature!

Afterwards, we gathered for tea and coffee, reflecting on such a lovely and memorable moment. It was a day filled with warmth, gratitude, and a strong sense of community that we will cherish for a long time.

We thank you everyone that attended this special moment 🙏

Today was full of laughter and fresh flavours as our residents got hands-on making a delicious salad together! 🥗

Using spring onions, feta cheese, beetroot, baby tomatoes, and cucumber, everyone enjoyed chopping, mixing, and of course… taste-testing along the way! They even made their own dressing with olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Michelle and Nicola were on hand to help as much as they could, though the residents were having so much fun (and sneaking bites!) that it was hard to keep up. Safe to say, the ingredients were disappearing almost as quickly as the salad was being made!

A wonderful, fun-filled activity enjoyed by all — and a very tasty one too!

Bank Holiday fun with Nicola and our residents turned into a full-on biscuit decorating showdown 🎉🍪

What started as a “nice relaxing activity” quickly escalated into a creative chaos of icing, sprinkles, and questionable artistic decisions. Some biscuits were masterpieces… others looked like they’d been through a sugar tornado—but everyone agreed they tasted amazing anyway!

There was laughter, a bit of friendly competition over who could use the most sprinkles (spoiler: everyone won), and more icing on fingers than on biscuits. Nicola did her best to keep things under control, but even she ended up covered in glittery icing and questionable “modern art” biscuits.

Safe to say the residents absolutely loved it, the biscuits didn’t stand a chance, and we’re still finding sprinkles in places we didn’t know existed 😄🍪

The Equal Arts project is in full swing! ✨

Our textiles sessions are bringing serious Swinging 60s vibes — think bold patterns, creativity flowing, and yes… hotpants madness! 🎨🧵

As part of the East London market project, the energy has been incredible. Everyone’s getting involved, enjoying the sessions, and making something truly special together.

Such a fun, vibrant experience — and we’re just getting started! 💫

Exercise session with Winston for our residents today, and it turned into a full garden workout with visitors joining in ☀️🐶

Winston led the session like a true professional—no sitting around, just full energy from start to finish. Residents followed his routine, and before we knew it, visitors had joined in too, trying to keep up.

It started as a simple workout but quickly became a proper community fitness class.

Highlights included:

Winston setting the pace like a personal trainer
Residents giving it their best effort
Visitors joining in halfway through and immediately realising it was not “light exercise”
By the end, everyone was tired… except Winston, who still looked ready for another round 😂

Just spent the afternoon planting EVEN MORE flowers in our gloriously sunny garden 🌼🌞

The garden is now officially entering “slightly unhinged cottage core chaos” territory… and honestly, we’re not mad about it.

Mid-planting, we took a very serious tea break ☕ (mandatory for photosynthesis efficiency, obviously) and absolutely demolished a suspicious number of bikies — which, for clarity, means biscuits 🍪 not leather-clad motorcyclists suddenly judging our petunias.

Plants: thriving.
Tea: flowing.
Biscuits: mysteriously disappearing at an alarming rate.
Gardening skills: confidently improvised.

10/10 wholesome chaos in the sun 🌿

St George’s Day done properly 🇬🇧🎉

We celebrated in style with Jacquie, our entertainer for the day, who had everyone smiling, singing, and maybe even dancing a little more than expected! The kitchen truly outdid themselves with some amazing red and white cupcakes — very patriotic and very delicious (they didn’t last long… for obvious reasons 😄).

Residents proudly showed their support, waving their St George’s flags and getting right into the spirit. The lounge was a sea of red and white, decked out with flags and balloons — you couldn’t miss it if you tried!

Safe to say, it was a day full of laughter, fun, and just a tiny bit of competitive cupcake appreciation 🇬🇧🧁

A little sunshine in every corner 🌼

Our residents got their hands happily busy planting beautiful flowers in containers, with wonderful support from our wellbeing team. There were smiles all around, a bit of laughter, and plenty of blooming creativity!

Now we can all enjoy these cheerful bursts of colour brightening up the space—proof that a little teamwork and fresh air can go a long way 🌸🌿

Well… things got very energetic today when All G Fitness came to visit! 💪😄

Our residents grabbed their resistance bands (some more enthusiastically than others 👀) and got stuck into a session full of movement, music, and plenty of laughs.

There was stretching, pulling, a bit of “are we meant to feel this?!” — and lots of great interaction all round. Add in some upbeat tunes and suddenly it felt less like exercise and more like a party! 🎶

Safe to say, everyone gave it their best shot… and we might have discovered a few hidden fitness stars in the process ⭐

Same again next time? (Maybe with a lie-down afterwards!) 😆
